Good price for a good light + high drain battery. Note that 1600 lumens is with the cool white tint + spring bypass mod, in stock form + the neutral white tint you can expect closer to 1200 (still overkill for 99% of use cases, your eyes won't notice a big change in brightness 1200-1600)

If you don't own a charger for 18650 batteries a good cheap entry is a LiitoKala Lii - 100, currently $4.90 AU shipped from gearbest -

  • Can vouch for these torch. Bought one last year and still going strong.

Another alternative would be Convoy S2+, if you prefer customisation.

    • Ditto - I too can vouch for the BLF A6 XPL. StingBritches Jnr. also has one and uses it everyday at work.

  • Yes, it's a good torch. The battery I use for this torch is come out of old laptop battery pack and still going strong.

  • Such a good torch. This is a good price for the XPL and a Samsung 18650 (although it is not a protected cell). All you'd need to get started is a cheap USB charger like OP mentioned and you have yourself a torch that will be more than sufficient for most people. You can also get body mods for smaller batteries so you can fit it on your helmet/bike etc better. I have the 3D colour and quite like it.

  • Just received mine from the last deal on here. Battery wasn't included. Damn! Nice torch, I dig the beam profile. Pretty heavy (which can either be a positive or negative attribute not really liking the 3D tint at low light levels, it's kinda green to me. Above mid level the tint just what I like, nice neutral looking light. Still trying to get my head around the different modes with the long click short mid click options, I'm much more comfortable with the updated convoy firmware.

  • Which one should I buy as my first LED torch since my LedLenser P6 died? I have no idea which tint/model to go for.

    • Most people would probably prefer the neutral 3D tint.
