  • Awesome! I was just about to buy this camera.

  • You got lucky. I don't think OW price matches grey imports. From the techrific site.

    Stock type : International Stock

If anyone wants to price match, best bet is to print out receipt and go to the same Richmond store as OP ASAP.

  • looks like a deal, i travel to sydney on friday night and plan to buy one!!

do they have a store in Sydney and is this offer on till Sunday the 10th?

  • I have one of these cameras in transit to me from the US. I have a previous model (a TZ5?) and was happy with it. Have read good reviews about the TZ10 but just after I placed the order I read another review giving it 8 1/2 out of ten and spelling out some bad points I didn't know about:
Only 80 photos from a full battery if you keep GPS on.
Images not as good as previous model.

    several pages of detail at:
    http://www.trustedreviews.com/digital-cameras/review/2010/02…

I'm beginning to think I should have been happy with the one I have. Not quite as excited about opening the parcel now. Price was a few $$$ cheaper through www.bhphotovideo.com/

  • Techrific was one of the availible selections on their POS system when selecting the name of the store they were matching price with - but maybe they sell Oz stock too? In any case, they were very friendly, and more than happy to help out so hopefully others can also benefit from this deal.

Initial impression is that the image quality is at least as good as TZ7, but slightly higher res. I have a spare battery to account for any power woes, but I would expect GPS functionality to take up plenty of juice.

  • I literally did the same thing on Friday, bought my parents the TZ10 for $367.13 from OW by price matching against www.topbuy.com.au, which had it for $386.45 (inc. $35 shipping). I think there was a few cheaper deals, but the TopBuy one had only $35 shipping, so that & the domain means it doesn't look like a grey import. The sales guy checked the website (to see if in-stock) and clicked on Contact Us as he was going to ring them. Went off to see manager & came back & said fine.
I have the older TZ11 & very happy with it. Liked the http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q210grouptravelzoom/page9.as… review (I always trust those guys). I have a scan of the receipt if needed.

    • This is a great news!

Can you please post your receipt as I am also going to buy this camera tomorrow.

      Cheers

    • Might give it a go in the Melb CBD this afternoon and report back.

  • Agree, if bring the total cost from Shoppingsquare to OW for 5% discount pricematch (283.95 + 79 shipping to VIC) => price will be down to $344.80

    • WTF $79 shipiing for a small camera!!! This SS never learn.

      • Try this price to OW $283 and don't tell them $79 shipping.

May be you can get $269 if you are lucky.

      • yeah, it's kind of biz trick? mark down the price & put up the shipping cost so they can cheat on tax (??) like those ebay sellers???

  • How is it compare with LX3? I know LX3 more expensive but what make LX3 more expensive?

    • I think LX3 has got a bigger Sensor than TZ10. Good for low light shooting.

  • Apparently This Camera is the Top of the range of Travel-Zoom Camera segment.

    Check this review.

    http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/panasonic_lumix_dmc_t…

    • Is it smaller than LX3?

      • Both look the same size. Overall, TZ10 is better I believe.

        TZ10 vs LX3
        Weight (inc. batteries): 218 g (7.7 oz) - 265 g (9.3 oz)
        Dimensions: 103 x 60 x 33 mm (4.1 x 2.4 x 1.3 in) - 109 x 60 x 27 mm (4.3 x 2.4 x 1.1 in)

Found that TZ10 a lot newer this year model.

  • Just got this price matched at OW after then would not match the direct shipping price from shopping square.

    Even cheaper! $301.10.
