Lapland in Winter: Where to go?

Looking at heading to Lapland in Jan/Feb 2018. Has anyone here been that could provide some recommendations on where to go exactly?

Doing my own research there seem to be many little towns in Sweden and Finland which tend to offer similar experiences. Have you been to any that you would recommended? How did you get there and the best time to go? Going as a couple, ideally looking to do activities such as see the northern lights, husky and reindeer sledding. icehotels, glass igloo hotels, snowshoeing, icefishing etc.

Thanks in advance!

Suggest you start by checking out rovaniemi.

I took the kids a few years ago to see the REAL SANTA.

    • Thanks mate, will check it out

  • Inside? would it not be freaking cold?

I heard traditional Lapdancing is quite the experience.

I was in Lapland in March 2016 through Scanbalt Experiences 'Magic Lapland Adventure tour'. I had quite a good time, and given the region, I thought it was fairly good value compared to planning everything myself.
They offer a discount to certain students, so as you would expect the majority of people are (exchange) students, though there were a few normal travelers on my tour as well.
If you wanna self-plan, I would look into flying or taking the train to Kiruna, and then perhaps renting a car from there.
PM me if you have any more questions
