Opinion? ALDI (Visage) Blood Pressure Monitor

Hi, was just wondering if anyone knew of a review or had an opinion on the Aldi (Visage) blood pressure monitor on sale this Saturday..?

Tried to Google search, but results seem to show a previous model…

  • Good price for an upper-arm reading machine.
Even the not-much-recommended wrist worn kinds are way more expensive.

    I need consider getting one…

  • I had an upper arm blood pressure machine for 2 years. Used weekly. I got it off ebay for $16. it was like this one but that one is more expensive. I tested it against hospital BP machines and it was fairly accurate - i.e. took a measurement, went to hospital and check what BP was there and then tried again at home. all very similar. and I get it that your BP can be affected by your environment eg. home vs hospital, and other external stimuli.

the thing with blood pressure monitors or thermometers is that for the non-medical person is that they don't have to be 100% accurate. 95% is fine. because if your blood pressure is through the roof (or floor) then it will tell you that (and you will feel it) and you should do something about it. just like if a thermometer says you have a temperature of 38 degrees - shit, better act on it.

    it will be fine.

though you could probably score a cheaper one from aliexpress or ebay

  • Do you have private health insurance? My fund paid a benefit on production of the receipt and my doctor's letter stating I needed one to monitor my BP.

  • i tried an aldi bpm a while back, something similar but was speaking (which sounds good initially but turned out to be very annoying). in back-to-back testing the measurements were comparable to my high-end omron. however, it continually said i had an irregular heart beat, whereas 2 other high-end omrons and my doctor's bpm didn't think so, so i took it back.

also measure your upper arm circumference and make sure the cuff size is right

whatever you end up getting make sure to take it to your dr to compare the readings. our BP machines are calibrated every year for accreditation purposes

Have one at home and it's pretty good . All the readings are accurate and is good if you have BP issues and want to monitor more closely
