I am thinking of buying a Doogee X5 Pro Mobile Phone (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Doogee-X5-pro-mobile-phones-…)
for a friend in Australia and was hoping that someone can confirm if the phone will work down there.
Currently they are with Aldimobile but as there are alternative telecom suppliers I want to ensure that a SIM from another provider will work in the phone. Many thanks

I still can't see that Do-Jei brand without saying "doggy" or "dodgey" in my mind.
No support for 3G 850 means it's a no go. No LTE Band 28 doesn't help either.
Please check with willmyphonework.net. The phone will work but won't be using all the bands available from the telco. It has band 1, 3 & 7 and 2100MHz on 3G so it would mostly work. Most low-end China-droids don't have band 28 anyway.
Mostly work? Doesn't work at all on Telstra due to no 3G 850 which is no good because OP is buying for someone on ALDI mobile. No LTE Band 28 means you can't access any of Optus' regional and in building 4G network and no LTE Band 5 puts you in a similar position with Vodafone.
That doesn't sound like mostly working to me. Although android users generally have low expectations of all things.
I did try to post a question about possibly increasing the scope of the phone by using a second SIM (the phone is dual SIM) e.g. one Aldimobile (Telstra network) plus one that uses the Optus network but my posting got lost in cyberland.
Anyway I think that I have sufficient information, hopefully to make an informed decision, so please accept my thanks for the speedily, and mainly positive, responses.
(the willmyphonework.net website has been really useful in making my life easier, so many thanks for that scotty)
