Stanley 133 Mechanics Tool Kit with Trolley and Box $224.10 (down from $499) @ Supercheap Auto eBay

80
COZZIE

This toolkit and trolley hasn't been posted in a while and it looks fair for the price. It may not be everyone's cup of tea with all the tool snobs on this forum but I have used way dodgier tools than these and never had any issues that weren't my fault :-)

RRP is listed as $499 (!) and it's 50% off until tonight, and if you click and collect on ebay you can use the code COZZIE to bring it down another 10% so a grand total of $224.10 which makes it a reasonable deal.

Further don't forget cashrewards if you can be bother for another 1.3% off.

Keep in mind these always go on sale at this price. I got mine for $160 when it was dropped to $200 and then applied a 20% off coupon on ebay.

    • Yeah that was some time ago I guess, I was looking for the post but couldn't find it, at 160 it's a hands flown great deal, but if someone needs it now this has been as good as it has been for some time

    • I paid 188 for mine. Feel so ripped off now :(

Haven't even opened it yet as it was an impulse buy

I bought one of these about 2 years ago for the same kind of price. The quality is horrible but it does the job.

Mines been sitting in a shed and the tools still rusted out. Saying that, it does what it supposed to do. Sit there in the dark and open and close when i need something.

    • Do you live near the coast? I had this issue with tools in my garage that were cheap but it wasn't a big problem for use.

not really. Honestly I'll never buy stanley again after the wheelbarrow wheel and bearings failed after a week, same with my brick / furniture trolley and this shit. I mean its obviously cheap, I could of had bad luck getting lemons but yeah, no more stanley for me.

    • went into the store to checkout quality before buying and gotta say it's definitely low quality. How anyone could justify $500 for this is beyond me

Thin sheet metal that feels like it could topple over, draws that open unevenly and don't stay closed when moving/rolling, flimsy doors that wobble/warp easily (due to thin metal and bad design with tolerances)

The tools itself is a bit better than the cheapest tools at least :P
Not much of a bargain IMO
      Mild sale

  • Stanley is one of those brands that seems to have been sold off to some money grubbing corporation that uses the name to sell cheap tools just slightly cheaper than you can get the good stuff when it's on sale
Bought a socket set that seemed like a great deal but still borrowing tools as the sockets are too chunky for tight spots
Totally defeats the purpose of a bargain if you have to go out and buy the good gear again anyway

Not worth cheaping out on tools that should last you your lifetime

    • To my knowledge Stanley sockets were always chunky, same with spanners.if you held up and old sidchrome next to it they were half the thickness

      • Well
I went out on a limb with my opinion
        And now I'm stuck

  • 7 positives, 613 click, out of stock. Gotta love it.
