The king doesn't look like the others as he is a white walker while the ones he controls (less dramatic looking ones) are wights. White walkers have the ability to re-animate the dead into the wights. The backstory of the white walkers have been delved into in the books and its story of the longest winter.
But we don't know why they are marching south.
They march south to kill everyone obviously. Dead want to destroy the living.
@garetz: I think the one thing that watching GOT has taught us is that nothing is obvious.
There is a bit of a discussion about this online but Jamie could go against Cersei and ultimately be the one to kill her.
Hotpie will continue to take his time browning his butter.
Episode 4 has been leaked btw and what an episode it is. Unreal!

That was brilliant !!
Right up there with the Battle of the bastards for mine. Got to say tho didn't expect Daenerys to fly in there like a bawss after that heart to heart on the beach haha. Hope Drogon is okay damn you Bronn!
You are a supreme douche bag. People didn't come in here for spoilers.

its already available online.
I haven't started watching yet!
I need to catch up with the previous season and it is killing me! but the all thing is too complicated to pause it for almost a year.Anyone seen the last Episode? I heard its out.
yup accidentally released early by HBO Spain.
Best season ever? Best season ever.
lol statement or question? Hard to say best season ever as they are all great haha.
@tajid: Obviously both, hence the punctuation. Your response was not needed.
I have this crazy feeling that Cersei being the antagonist in the series is a huge red herring. I think that the last few episodes have been foreshadowing this. I believe that the shock death this season or early next season will be the unexpected and unpleasant death of Cersei, at the hands of either her brother or Daenerys (who I think might live up to her father's reputation and burn everyone and everything in King's Landing). I think the true fight will be between John Snow and Daenerys, and I think the rhetoric in the last few episodes is pointing towards this (asking John to take a knee for example). She seems to be getting a little more megalomaniacal as the series progresses. I have a feeling that we haven't been given the backstory of the White Walkers for a reason, and perhaps their gruesome appearance is another red herring. Are they all bad? What do they really want? Are all the White Walkers the same? The king certainly doesn't look like the zombie walkers. (Anyone notice the nod to the Walking Dead in Episode 3?) I think we might see John Snow band together with the White Walkers (after discovering their true motives) to defeat Daenerys, after she razes King's Landing. This will conclude the Tale of Fire and Ice.
