aldi baked beans - 65cents. good flavour, nice amount/mixture of beans and sauce.

    • +2

The 65c ones never seem cooked enough in my opinion. The 85c and up are much closer to Heinz quality. Personally I love SPC Rich Tomato.

im a big aldi advocate but the aldi ones are a disappointment.

Quality dutch ovens for only half price.

Europeans make the best kitchen appliances.

my mrs got a free dutch oven last night. she doesnt like it though.

      • Is she racist?

    made in nz

    spc are made in oz

    • -3

eh. NZ is close enough to use for that to not matter

    • +4

I'd be more worried about where the ingredients are from: Made in New Zealand from local and imported ingredients.

      • -5

Made in NZ from Chinese beans grown on a farm with slave labour and unregulated pesticdes and sewage runoff as fertiliser??

        • -2

Another negative comment by tommyc. Maybe a can of beans is what he needs. (sewage runoff and all)

          @Maloo:

It's the price this site is about, bitch about the product but it's not fair to neg based on your assumptions.

  • Frequently see them at 99C

    • And you didn't post them here for us?

    • +1

They were last $1 in May, they were $0.80 at both Coles and Woolies in November. Credit to Price Hipster

  • Currently in spud shed at 99c. I seem to recall buying them in the past year at 89c having seen this in either the Woolworths or Coles weekly posts. I bought 60 cans then.

    • +2

Building a methane powered car? 60 cans should fuel a fair bit :P

I'm avoiding Heinz after their 25% stealth reduction in the meat content of their Big n' Chunky cans a few months back.

  • +1

Brought some at Coles yesterday - all sauces (BBQ, Ham, English Recipe and Original) were all half price @ $1.05 a can.

  • +3

I still won't pay over $1 for a can of beans.

  • +3

These will not be available in this size ever again once sold out. Heinz are dropping to a 300g can.

  • +2

Yes, 100% correct. If you have a favourite Baked bean flavour, now is the time to buy one of the last 400gm tins before they go to the 300gm tins that are already on the shelves priced at Woolworths here at $2.00. Assuming Woolworths continue to sell them at 1/2 price on occasion, the new 300gnm tin will be sold at $1.00. So if you have a spare few dollars, time to stock up.

300gm? Not for me, Heinz. That is where I get off the ride.
