I'm moving from Sydney to Brisbane with my family. I'm looking for options to send my household items through a mover. Does anyone have any recommendation for a cheap reliable moving service.
I live in a ground floor 3 bedroom unit. Any ideas of pricing ?
I have not yet found a place in Brisbane and no idea what the city is or nay good suburbs ? Any recommendations on this would also be helpful.
If you can be flexible maybe consider backloading. Many movers offer this service - rather than travel with half an empty van, they will offer a cheaper price. Still for the full service, pickup and delivery, however you have to be flexible and fit in with their dates.
As to suburbs - really depends on what your needs are. You could consider somewhere near Springfield Lakes - nice newish kind of area, nice big park nearby with a free swimming lagoon. Move into one of the older suburbs nearby for a cheaper price and get the new facilities not too far away. Check the crime rate in the area you are considering at this site - https://crimemap.info/
The cheapest quote I got from is Rham transport which is around 2700. Not sure it will go below than that but I think this doesn't include insurance.
Regarding sprinfields lakes - isn't it bit too far to the city ? I don't know how far people travel in Brisbane for work though and no idea about the public transport system. As per google it is 1.15 mins ..
What i heard from people is that renting is not bad as sydney ( It took me 1.5 months to find a place in Sydney which is below my standards)
Rham Transport - they will store your stuff in Sydney for 2 weeks for free and then a weekly charge - you can then ask them to send your stuff in Brisbane when you have a set address
