Hello fellow ozbargainers,
I'm sure many of you have used or at least know of the Dropbox file synchronization/backup service. For those of you who don't know, Dropbox is a simple online virtual storage utility that allows you to backup and make your files accessible from almost anywhere. For more information, you can read & watch videos on its website: "www.dropbox.com".
I have been a happy Dropbox user and became even happier since recently I found out that they are now offering double referral credits (250MB -> 500MB per referral) for users with educational email addresses.
This works for current Dropbox users as signing up directly using a .edu email addresses is not required. Just log on to the link below and add your .edu email address on Dropbox. Once they verify it you will notice an increase (up to 16GB) in the space you have (from the doubling of referral bonus space you had previously obtained).

For those who don't have an educational email addresses, it may be worthwhile get one here: http://www.australia.edu/
However, I'm not 100% sure that this email would also be valid as I haven't tried myself.
Finally, for those who have not signed up at Dropbox yet but interested in signing up, you are welcome to sign up through my referral link: http://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTE3MDg3ODM5 as this will give both you & me an extra 250MB space on top of the regular 2GB free account. And, this bonus space will increase to 500MB once you verify your .edu email addresses.
Nice. I've been struggling with my 2Gb limit now and i only needed about a gig more.
This works out nicely, thanks for the heads up.
