Looking for a Portable Hard Drive for The Wife, Any Recommendations

Hi

Looking for a portable hard drive as my wife has asked for one for work, basically would only have Microsoft office documents but would need to be reliable, password protection and be able to take a knock.

I have been looking at HDD but am thinking a SSD might be the way to go?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Would be sturdier than a HDD since SSD's have no moving parts.

could also consider just a USB flash drive like the Sandisk Ultra USB TypeC (it'll still connect to old USB 2.0).

    • That is a cool flash drive, using IOS but still a great idea

  • Looks like the way to go, now to find one on special. Thinking 250gig would be heaps

  • What's wrong with just a normal USB stick that's got password protection or encryption? Word documents don't take up much space.

When you want a hard drive, a small stick just doesn't cut it.

It's how you use it that counts! haha

Next you'll be telling me quality not quantity…

  • Want a hard drive for some reason? Maybe lest chance of loosing it?

    Seems like a fair trade.

  • I'd get one of these.

Either that or put a Veracrypt container on any flash drive. First option is easier.

  • Just make sure she has more than the single copy.

  • Those LaCie rugged tough ones are very well regarded. Especially if you think it'll have a few knocks. Can she buy it with a corporate card since it's a work purchase ? She'll at last he abel to claim it as a deduction so I wouldn't worry about price too much
