I'm afraid that I haven't been caught up in the Aldi web, and my prejudices were confirmed on the weekend. A mate turned up with a new set of driver bits from Aldi. Gee, they looked good, and they were cheap. We put a Phillips bit in a drill and gave it an easy task, driving short screws into a soft cedar window frame. Oh dear. After three or four screws the bit failed to engage in the screw heads, and inspection showed that the bit was stripped. I think he will be taking them back…..

Or weak wrists. Push into the screw hard and straight..
Or he used a drill and not an impact driver
…seems that you were the on that got screwed with these crappy bits.
You can't be stingy on drill bits, buy the most expensive you can afford from burnings etc and you will have them for years to come and will save in the long run.
Well, some people don't like to pay too much for screws.
The screws are stripped or the bits are stripped? If the latter, what - are they made out of chalk or something
I think the Aldi screw driver bits are made from cheese. Their drill bits are pretty ordinary too.
Well……this does not sound promising for the 3 sets I bought from Aldi the other week :(
If you don't use them then they'll be fine
Hopefully they aren't as rubbish as my Ryobi drill bits which are like trying to use a cheese stick to drive a screw.
Christmas is not that far away.. they'd make perfect Kris Kringle presents! haha
It almost seems like the bit you used wasn't the right size for the job.
