  • Looks like a good deal. I have an old Samsung X640 from 2006 that is pretty much indestructible (and believe me, I've tested that…)

  • I bought this phone a year ago. tried to sell it NOw it's 39 dollars. Where am I going to do with this?

  • Great phone for the $39 price point

  • so is it only for optus sim cards??

    • yes. it will be locked to be used by optus until you unlock it.

    • Sorry, noob question ahead - if a phone is locked to Optus, will regular (post paid) sim cards work?

  • Got one for my wife, but how can you unlock it later(after 8 month?), it unlock itself? I am using it for Optus anyway.

    • Yeah I've bought optus pre paid few times. Basically, you either wait 6 months to unlock or pay some fee upfront (maybe $80) which is not worthwhile. You will have to call them up to unlock the phone after 6 months.

  • Should be able to use this with Virgin, I would guess (still Optus network), but recently Optus have put up some reasonably competitive deals

  • +1

buy it for the radio - it's cheaper than a radio!

  • Thanks OP! I bought one as a spare phone for family relatives that pop in from oversea.

  • Optus pre paid deals are good. Basically tpg, liveconnected, virgin all run on optus network. So, any of those sims would work on this optus pre paid. Just wait 6 months to unlock and then that pre paid is unlocked anyways.

    • Do you have to contact them for a code? I.E. use their service for 6 months then ask, or are you saying they automatically unlock them 6 months after the sim is registered?

      • Yes. I got it unlocked twice and both times I had to call optus and then they help it unlock it for you. They tell you the unlock codes that you have to manually enter in your phone to unlock. Pretty straight forward.

  • Or $10 more for 2M camera Samsung B3310 (Optus)
No online stock, but can be picked up from store.

  • Have you guys checked out the Nokia 6760 on the same page. It is advertised at $159 but when you actually click on "Buy Now" button, it goes to $129. Ain't that a good deal now!!!

  • Optus is full of it. I ordered the phone a few days ago, just received a refund and no contact at all. It's now off their site.
