HD DVDs @ $9.95 (plus cheap postage of $1 if you're quick!)

141

A lot of HD-DVDs are $9.95 @ DStore due to this week's announcement by Toshiba. It's a good time for HD-DVD owners if they want to stock up on movies.

Combine it with $1 shipping (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/3208) and you've got a pretty good deal considering HD-DVD were about $30-$50 last week!

    • Really? "JetStar Promo Feb 08 - AU $10.00 Voucher: available against orders over AU $40.00 - expires 7-Mar-2008 - can not be used with any other offer". Hmm???

  • Thats what I did!!!! $0.95 for Apollo 13 on HD DVD.

And guess what?? I haven't got a HD DVD player. HAHAHA

    • With Toshiba withdrawing from HD DVD, it will be very difficult to buy a player soon. A $0.99 frisbee?! :)

      • scotty… that's a 95c frisbee! =p

      • Apparently LG will press on with HD DVD.

Rather than completely scrap its already- or near-complete combo player hardware, LG likely sees it as more logical to continue the manufacture and sales of its dual-format players until the end of its product lifecycle.

        • Excellent to hear

  • Ok guys, now we just have to wait for the cheap HD-DVD drives :)

  • You know what, I believe some random company will make a Blu ray and HD DVD player in one

  • LG already do make a Dual Format HD disc player here
    The BH100 model

    • I believe that Samsung has one too!

  • Nice, pity they do this before losing the format war!! :p
If you already have an HD-DVD drive this is a winner, but if you don't it's probably not so hot.

  • This is the best, I just bought 3 HD DVD for $0.95 each, I used the $10 voucher
Im just gonna wait for a cheap time to buy a dual format player.
If worst comes to worst, I wasted $2.85. LOL

BTW, how much is a dual format player in retail stores in sydney?

    • which movies did you get? there are some really good ones that are still like $30 in DVD format!

  • Looks like quite a few are now on back order and will not ship.

  • I got: Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremecy and Apollo 13. But when I ordered supremecy it was on back order

apparently, theyre selling them as upscaling dvd players now!

  • Wow, if you go and look at the avaliable HD DVD left at dstore, theres like 6 left priced at $9.95

  • Unfortunately, dStore have changed all the vouchers so that you can only use them for orders over $40, and you can't use them together. So I guess if you'd already got the vouchers before, it's a bargain.

If you just signed up today and claimed the vouchers. Bad luck.

    • That's bad news.

  • like buying betamax when vhs was popular.

    • Yes at $0.95 a pop and a high chance a dual format player will be dropping in price

    • its more like… buying a extremely cheap betamax video for your betamax video player. so i dont think a negative vote was warranted.

  • wooooot i got 2 HD DVDS rambo and knocked up for 90cents including postage hahaha

used my tiger+jetstar voucher $20 freeeeeeeee

GOD I LOVE DSTORE AND ITS FREE STUFF, JUST LOVE IT!!!!
