So a couple of months back my car was written off by someone running a red light. My car wasn't fully insured. Eventually at the start of July their insurance company emailed an amount they will pay out. I still haven't received anything. How long does it normally take for them to make a payment? They are not responding to my emails asking when I should expect the money. I have called, but it goes straight to a msg saying they will call back. They never do.
How Long Until Insurance Payout?

i have a piece of string in front of me and it's about 12cms long
twice the length of one half.
This is too complicated, what is this String Theory?
nrma paid us about three weeks after the claim. choose your insurer wisely.
Why not call them instead of asking us?
One of us knows, we're just waiting for him to ask us here.
Dibs: its not me!
They could be waiting for their client to pay the excess!
Call them and ask
AAMI was about 2 weeks
about 8 weeks if its coles

Actually, I may have misread the initial post. If they have already agreed to pay out and have your bank details, it really shouldn't take more than a week. It's just a matter of them processing it.
Best to call and see what the hold up is.
I have a feeling it may be end of the month, since I first heard at the beginning that they'd pay once they have my details, which of course I supplied.
I have called of course. It goes straight to a recorded msg saying they will call back. They haven't.
If I don't receive word or money by the end of the month, I'll call daily and fill up their msg bank, and also email constantly. Eventually I'll contact the ombudsman.
How long is a piece of string?
