so according to Microsoft's internal documents, we'll be seeing quite a few built in Windows apps being removed entirely from the OS and some features to become hidden / dormant as they are no longer being actively updated or worked on.
Some of the noteworthy ones that are being removed, and what I would personally recommend as an alternative:
Paint - replace this with Paint.net or GIMP. If you take screenshots, try Greenshot
Outlook Express - replace this with Office 365 (actually Outlook Exp never worked for W7~W10 anyway)
Reader app - Microsoft Edge
Reading List - Microsoft Edge
Syskey - BitLocker (in Windows Pro edition)
System Image Backup (SIB) Solution - replace with EASUS todo Backup free
Would you miss the removal of Microsoft Paint? I personally would because it's such a simple app and having it removed means there's one extra thing I'd need to install to get a simple editing app.
I hate that they removed Programs and Features from the start menu. Also they removed Control Panel.
Hate that windows updates are now done through the Settings menu.
Makes our IT support life harder! It was perfectly fine in version 1607.
Don't even get me started on Server 2016!
