Eigashima Distillery founded in 1888, located in Akashi City, Japan, is the country’s oldest and smallest whisky distillery. Whisky production takes place only two months out of each year, with the rest of the time being devoted to sake and shochu production. This combined with the fact that less than five employees handle all of Eigashima’s whisky production, makes the distillery’s signature Akashi White Oak Japanese Whisky some of the rarest in Japan, not to mention elsewhere around the world. White Oak whisky is stored a minimum of three years and a maximum of eight with the Akashi Meïsei, translating roughly as 'celebrity' in Japanese, is a limited edition blended whisky made with 45% American oak matured single malt.

    Come on rep.. You even listed this product on your eBay store for $299 with FREE shipping and didn't even mention it, poor form. Last time I mentioned eBay you stated their fees were too high to list for the same price, yet you're offering a better deal on there.

    @doweyy Unaware of the discount on ebay you are referring to - potentially a targeted promotion you have received. Thanks for highlighting the price variance on ebay - this shouldn't be the same.

    @spackbace I have checked on ebay and I can't see this discount you mention advertised anywhere on their home page or the liquor & grocery category page yet I can see someone has linked to the terms & conditions of the offer on the other ozbargain post linked above which seems it's a targeted offer not global. We aren't made aware of these promotions by ebay in advance and we post on here to advertise offers/new items on our main site only. The price was listed incorrectly on ebay which you pointed out so it was resolved promptly. Thanks for all of your feedback.

      Some suggestions:

      1. Before accusing someone of posting a targeted coupon, check it yourself! I'm sure someone in your office has a personal ebay account. Or even a simple "oh wow I didn't know about that, where did you get that code from?"
      2. After it's clear that we've seen the price, don't increase it without saying something! Obviously you don't really do 'free' postage on eBay and just jack up the price to incorporate it.
      3. Now that you know about the discount coupon, put it in your ebay ad headings. The 10% isn't coming off your bottom line so may as well use it to your advantage.

      Oh and this deal post just seems like advertising. I'm not sure how many of the products you've listed are actually discounted, they just seem like new products at RRP. So how about showing us what discounts we're getting?

      This site isn't about posting up your weekly newsletter, it's about posting deals, and it appears like today you just wanted to advertise.

    Gooddrop are basically the Aldi of liquor.

    When they first started appearing around here there were a couple of great deals with really good prices - everyday prices. Then… they realised they were so far under their competitors prices (who i believe, as importers, Gooddrop sell to) they could basically price at (or slightly under - aka like Aldi) their buyers/competitors RRP and discount the odd item here and there - as per 'sales' like the one originally listed here.

    Such a shame, but I guess things were too good to last…
