What's The Most Coupon/Rewards Stacking You've Done?

For me this is the best I can think of which is for eating out:

  1. book a restaurant on dimmi for points
  2. use a entertainment book voucher
  3. pay with a best restaurants gift card
  4. buy said best restaurants gift card when flybuys had a bonus points promotion - get 2000 points ($10 equivalent) when you buy a $50 gift card
  5. paid for gift card with a credit card for points

What about you guys?

The 5 codes at Woolworths that netted 13c cans of coke

Also my first Virgin mobile contract, combined 3 months free and 5 months 1/2 off. So the first few bills were all negative balances and the 3 months free repeated, so ended up with 8.5 months free.

    • Yeah, that coke deal was killer. I got 9x24can cartons delivered for $45

Wow, and if you are in SA/NT and got the 10c deposit back, it would be 3 cents a can.

  • I've stacked flybuys coupons, docket deals and email offers to get over 40% off the transaction cost at Coles before. Usually I'm buying half price specials in the transaction which increases the discount percentage even further.

In case you're wondering, the scenario usually runs something like this.

4 week offer of spend $50 for 10,000 points. This means that for each $50 transaction I get 2500 points for this offer on a prorata basis. I stack this with a 1000 point docket deal for spending $50 and a 500 point weekly coupon for spending $50 in one transaction. This is a total of 4000 bonus points for the transaction which converts to $20 off the shopping total once the points are all added and converted to flybuys dollars. I've also gotten the base 50 points and a couple of product based offers in the transaction so it ends up as just over 40% return.

The best I've done with Woolworths Rewards was 5000 QFF points for an online order of $50. It was still Everyday Rewards at the time. This was during the days of 1 for 1 conversion of points. The value of QFF points varies but at the time 5000 points was worth around $33 to me which means I made back 66% in the transaction.

  • Not so much coupon stacking, but deal stacking.

Bought Jeans from Mossimo online, needed one pair, but would often go through a pair a year, so optimized the purchase by buying enough jeans to save on postage. The jeans were on sale at $20 each (down from normal price of $100 i think) and the postage was $15 or free for orders over $75. So bought 4 pairs of jeans and used cash rewards. Came to $80 with a $5 cash rewards bonus. Now, will not need to buy jeans for a few years.

Also, often do a lot of stacking on Apple products at Myer, where you price match a competitor and use the 10% bonus offer on Myer gift cards, plus Myer one points. You also used to get flybuys and could use a credit card with loyalty bonus to purchase the Myer gift cards.

Some of the recent ebay deals have been great, with additional price discounts and cashrewards.

  • Ages ago I stacked coupons on then-sucky/buggy Dominos website.
Pretty much ended up getting like 5 premium pizzas for around $13.

That was the best "stacking" I did, but definitely not the most lasting/fulfilling purchase.

Missus wanted a new MacBook air last year, and just so happened that Amex had $100 off $300 at HN. This item was ~$1800.
I had only 5 cards (1 main + 4 supps) so could only use $1500 to its full use. So got my brother to buy a $300 HN gift card using his Amex, paid him $200. Saved the $100 there.
Then took the item to the counter, used the $300 gift card first, total to pay now $1500.
"Can I pay $300 each using 5 cards?"
    "Yeah sure"
Paid, got the emails, basically saving 600 bucks straight up.
Then we went overseas, so claimed TRS. Best part was the TRS was based off the ~$1800 price so got back ~$164.
Total price for a brand new, local stock, 2016 MacBook Air was ~$1036 (~42% off).
I might have done better elsewhere but this certainly sticks to mind. Thanks Amex and thanks (never thought I'd say this), Gerry Harvey.

    • You have 5 amex cards? :O

      • I only have 1 :( but with 4 supplementary cards which all link back to the same account…
That's nothing, there's people on here with 20 or 25 cards, I wish I had that many :p

I have 6 Amex cards and managed the same trick on a laptop at HN last November. Oh yes and took it overseas for the TRS refund - all up saved around $770 on an $1800+ purchase. Only time I have ever thanked Gerry Harvey too.

I bought $20 worth of Up&Go's with the 5000 bonus points I received from the Woolworths rewards signups and therefore got $40 of rebel vouchers for free. Not the best coupon stacking but a pretty awesome deal nonetheless lol.

Could've done it multiple times with the WW signup but didn't get greedy enough.

That's pretty awesome. You've used $20 of free money and converted it into an extra $40 of free money.

This one time coke released a FB promo for a free 250ml no sugar coke at coles.
Here's the kicker it had a limited amount of time for you to be able to redeem the barcode and you could do so at the self check out.
The barcodes weren't unique and you could screenshot it before the time expired and also scan as many times in the one transaction.
so i stacked scan after scan and cleared out the store.
it also worked for other 250ml varieties.
    rinse and repeat…

    Also Tesco in the UK…

    • Thanks, that's why my Coles was empty and I couldn't use my freebies.

  • Getting called a 'professional' by Gerry Harvey has to be an absolute highlight of life as an OzBargainer :)
