Broadway Shopping Centre [Sydney, NSW] - Spend $20 on Food | Get $20 off Fashion

700

Hi guys,

I got this email from them that says spend $20 on dining at Lv 2 and get $20 Fashion Gift Card to spend in the centre. I went there today and got the gift card. TnCs said it doesn't have to be all in 1 receipt, but they NEED to be claimed on the same day. Claim at Customer Service desk on Level 1, in front of Vodafone/Dymocks. It's at the same spot where you collect your online shoppings.

Only 1 claim per person per day.

Promotion period is Wednesday 19 July and ends at 6pm on Sunday 13 August 2017, or when all (Broadway Sydney Gift Cards) valid claims are received

The girl said, gift cards cannot be used at major retailers i.e. Kmart, Target, Coles/Aldi. But can be used at H & M and Sephora.

What is written on their website:

What better way to fuse your love of food and fashion? Wine & dine on L2 to the value of $20 or more, and you'll receive a $20 gift card to spend on fashion. Simply present your L2 Dining receipt to the Customer Service Desk on Level 1, on the same day of your purchase, to redeem your $20 Broadway Sydney gift card.

Makes sense. After an ozbargainer spends $20 on food they will need larger clothes

    • Or if they don’t get size small in a sale they would need free food before picking up clothes.

  • I can see myself pairing this with a Nando's special to take away and an H&M clearance sale. Timing is everything though so it's unlikely to line up.

Just wish to say that when I last checked, they ran out of the physical cards already as at 3pm today. Depending on when OP redeemed, they might have restocked (I doubt), cause there were only 200 cards available for the promotion (as per the T&Cs).

    • Really??? I claimed it at around 1:30PM I think.

      • Yup, cause I tried redeeming it at 3PM

  • Who eats that much u can get enough to get full for $10 bux.

Give me $20 and i will show you how its done.

With how upmarket Broadway food court has gotten, $10 can barely get you a side dish

    • The average is $13-15 a meal now. Plus $3 drink. If you go with someone, then you can combine your receipts.

    • You don't have to eat alone you know…

good luck feeding yourself there for $10 in Broadway, after they renovated the food court, even you typical two dish plus fried rice cost like $15 and the portions are tiny (I work near that place, and don't bother going there for lunch anymore).

If you are not far from glebe point road. There a thai place that does $8 lunches woth decent servings.

        • I assume you mean Thai On Wok? I go there just about everyday :) (there is another Thai place further down Glebe Point road past Bridge Rd, also does $8 lunch and are pretty decent too)

        • @FW190: tum yum tum gang. (Spelling???)

        • @xoom:

yeah something like that, although I thought it was Tum Yam Thai or something similar :)

  • Food and Fashion cannot be in the same sentence!!

So i gave them a call, they said that while they have run out of physical card, if you present your food receipt to them they will take you postal address and post the card out when they have more. So you won't miss out

  • +1

    You might miss out.
They told me they have 300 more for the promotion that will arrive during the week.
The book of mail outs looks to have at least 300 names and addresses in it.
    Hopefully they will allocate more.

You could do pretty well out of this deal:

    • 4 friend go to bondi pizza. Stack with entertainment book + amex mid year special (or gift cards from costco). Have a feast for $80 …
    • make sure you split the bill and get 4x $20 receipts
    • Get 4x $20 fashion vouchers
    • Use the 4x $20 fashion vouchers - stack with amex mid year special again.

It's a little bit of work, but totally doable.

    • bondi pizza let you split bill?

      • Yes Depends on the staff … Not sure how it would work with stacking the discount nts though.

    • Not a bad idea, but I just had a look and it seems for the AMEX Mid Year offer the $75+ transaction has to be done in one transaction which is a shame. Normally it's worded such that you're allowed to do it one or more transactions but this one specifies.

      • Bondi pizza sells gift cards, so you could buy a gift card first and then split the bill 4 ways … but you probably couldn't stack with entertainment book.

        • Ah good idea. Do you happen to know whether you can specify the value of the gift cards if bought in-store? It seems for online purchased ones, they're only available in increments of $100. Was hoping to buy maybe 2x $75 ones :P

          @illumination:

Not certain … but i would say yes. I've received handwritten paper gift certificates from there.

The ones from costco have a pre-printed amount on them.

        • @sp00ker: Thanks - I'll give it a shot.

Yea I've gotten hand written paper gift certificates from them too but I'd imagine they'd be different if we went in and ordered one hahaha

        • @illumination:

Again, sounds like its just a matter of finding the right staff.

Re: Entertainment book - looks like you can buy individual coupons on ebay/gumtree … although it's like spending $1 to save $5 … not the best use of your time!

  • Went there today and they've run out of vouchers :(

    • completely?

    • Aw that's sad.

As purplelady asked… completely, for the whole promo, or just for today?

      • The staff member at the info counter said they've run out for the whole promotion. I think an earlier comment advised there were only 200 vouchers up for grabs so I think this effectively got ozbargained.

        • Yea I recall that comment.

And for 200 to be exhausted like that is not that surprising I suppose, especially after being posted on Ozbargain!

        • @illumination: whoops sorry :P

but it's a bit crazy, I think they didn't analyse it properly. If you think about it, the whole promo is around 3 weeks long. 21 days. Meaning 200 cards/21 days, only 10 cards per day. Even weekdays there would easily be more than 10 cards claimed, weekends would be 100! It really was only suitable for a week long promo. And well, here you go, 1 week and they are all gone.

        • @purplelady: haha don't apologise. All good.

Just confirming (in case there was any doubt) that the promo is indeed over. There's a sign at customer service stating that the "Allocation has been exhausted". Really good deal though, I must say!

Just received my cards in the mail. They look like standard eftpos cards, loaded with $20 credit, so you should be able to use them anywhere. Great promo.

  • Received my card too, cheers
