[IKEA] RYET LED Bulb E27 - 5W, 400 Lumen, 2700K ($2.99 AUD)

90

My previous IKEA lightbulb didn't turn on, so I went out to get a new one and turns out this is fairly cheap however note that it is 400 Lumens NOT 600 Lumens so it's not as bright. I personally don't have an issue with that seeing as it sits as a desk lamp. Beware though, this is the exact lightbulb that didn't work for me, i'm just buying it to give it another chance since it's an LED.

Here's the overall information though:

The light from this LED bulb feels as strong as the light from a traditional 35W incandescent bulb.
Not dimmable.
LED life time approx. 15.000 hours.
Light Colour: warm white (2700 Kelvin).
Lights up directly when switched on.
Use an opal light bulb if you have an ordinary lamp shade or lamp and want an even, diffused distribution of light.
The light bulb can be used in temperatures from -20°C till +40°C.

  • The led wattage is not 35W, maybe edit to remove it from the title as I read 35W and 400Lm and thought it's 1917 :D

      • Haha I'm guilty of being fat as well

  • Is this deal nationwide?

    • It's on the website, so it's nationwide.

      • Different web sites for SA/WA and the eastern States, often with different prices However, it is the same price in this case. http://www.ikea.com/aa/en/catalog/products/90377654/?query=R…

I often get family to pick things up in Adelaide if they're significantly cheaper. Similarly, we buy things for them when they're cheaper in Sydney. I have no idea why the prices are sometimes so different

  • I bought an Osram Led bulb today at Bunnings. $4.95 but they have cool and warm, bayonet and screw fitting and equal to 60W, 75W and 100W (cant remember the exact lumens - I bought an Equal to 75watt - which was 11watt and 900lumens (or there abouts)
I thought $4.95 was pretty good for the brightness (ikea 400L are too dull).
I dont see them on sale on the Bunnings site, but Gold Coast Bunnings had a pellet full.

I purchased quite a few of these when they were $0.99c a pair, after I intially tried a pair. They are bright enough for pleasant night lighting without being blinding, and they emit a nicer glow than some previous brands/models I had tried which were harsher and reminded me of flourescents.

    • I wish I had bought them at $0.99 a pair :(

      • Yeah, I was amazed they lasted as long as they did at that price.

They seemed to be selling out the packets of pairs, so they could sell them as singles…

Even at the price you paid, you still got a great deal ;-)

  • I was after some mini bulbs for the fan light greater than 600lms each. hard to find. tried Corn COB LEDs. that's best I can get off eBay with the brightness but power consumption is 15w and they get very hot. unfortunately the normal size bulbs don't fit.
