Firstly, I'm not a doctor. So never do what I say.
Secondly, I can't work out why Gastrolyte and Hydralyte are so damn expensive. Rarely on special and always seem to be about the same price as each other. Cheapest I have found them for is ~40c per tablet at chemist warehouse. Gastrolyte currently on "special" lol, 20 tablets for $7.99 @ CW. Makes my collusion spidey senses tingle.
The High5 tablets seem to do the do the job for sweat replacement, avoiding hangovers the next day etc and cost far less at 22c per tablet.
Damn hard to work out the actual sodium and potassium content of the tablets, because they list various ingredients as a range of nearly impossible to decipher mm0/L mg/mL mixed and per tablet and potassium chloride (~52% potassium). but as far as I can deduce:
$ per tablet | Sodium | Potassium | Calcium | Magnesium | Sweetner | link | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
High5 Zero | 0.22 | 200 | 70 | 9 | 56 | artificial | |
Gastrlyte | 0.40 | 138 | 96.72 | nil | nil | glucose | CW |
hydralyte | 0.45 | 138 | 77.48 | nil | nil | glucose | CW |
