Summary:
- Menu-based combat + Touch screen interface = slow
- These games got a graphical overhaul, but internally they are the same game (prehistoric for an RPG)
- Random battles = annoying as heck

I won't be buying either :P

  You shouldn't be playing JRPG's in the first place if you find random battles are annoying.
  
  Also, of course they are the same game as the originals. Why would you expect anything more?
