iPod Touch 6th Generation Battery Issue

Hey Guys,

I bought my daughter an IPOD touch 6th Generation 32GB less than 1 year ago and the battery goes from 100% to exhausted in less than 1 hour 20 minutes, watching movies.

I carry a battery to plug in when we're on a plane etc, but she can't even watch one movie.

Is this normal? The device is small, so the battery will be small also, but it seems a bit ridiculous.

I still have the receipt, so I may return it, but I wanted to hear from others first.

Thanks in advance.

Not normal. The battery is faulty and needs replacement. Don't replace it yourself of course — it's still under warranty with Apple.

    • And push for your consumer rights if out of 1 Year warranty - consumer warranty is 2 years.

Take it to the Apple store for a Genius bar appointment.

    • Actually make an appointment first

  • The joys of embedded lithium batteries. If it's under warranty, let Apple take care of it.

  • Hi Guys, I followed your suggestions, made an appointment at the local Apple store. They ran some diagnostics, which returned an 'error' and they immediately gave me a brand new unit, with new 2 year warranty. They said it should last 6 to 7 hours playing video.
