Replacement Receiver for Wireless Mouse and Keyboard

I had bought a Belkin C600 (F5Z0321AU) Wireless Keyboard + Mouse combo from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/143302 but I lost the little usb receiver. Will any other receiver ie. ebay ones work with those? If it does could you please recommend me one. Thanks.

  • I doubt you can get one. They are matched in the factory and I've never seen any brand sell spares. Get a Bluetooth one next time.

  • Last year I bought a TARGUS in-car PC power supply for my new Lenovo light-weight travel PC. I checked that it had the correct (circular) tip for the power socket.

A few days later I returned the PC, it only had a 32GB SSD which was unusable, and bought another Lenovo PC with a larger HDD.

The power supply tip looked like a small A type USB plug with a wire in the centre. The in-car power supply didn't include that sort of tip.

I contacted Targus and they sent me two of the required tips (in case one got lost) for free. Excellent service.

Belkin and Targus are two of the big "name brand" suppliers of add-on PC equipment (Logitech is the only other one I can think of off the top of my head). If you contact Belkin they MAY send you a new dongle.

I know that Logitech sell "Unifying Wireless Receiver" dongles. They are about $9 on eBay. I can't see any listings for Belkin ones.

Slightly off topic but about PC add-on gotchas: Most laptop PCs have Kensington security lock slots that take the T-shaped head of the lockdown cable.

Some Dell PCs use Noble security locks which have a wedge-shaped head on the lockdown cable. Guess which type my new Dell PC uses? None of my extensive collection of Kensington key or combination cables are usable.

  • It's a $13 KB and mouse combo. You're not going to get a replacement. Save your effort.

As above, a Logitech Unifying receiver is the way of the future - more reliable than bluetooth, and replaceable if lost or upgrading. The cheaper model (MK220) ISN'T a Unifying one, but given the money you're spending as an OzBargainer you can choose either Unifying models or cheap ones, your choice.

    • Yes it is cheap and I could easily buy another set but then The existing set will turn into junk. Lucky for me I found the usb receiver, Yay. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

      • It would have been junk anyway if you hadn't found the dongle… but I'm glad you did (I hate tossing good tech out!!)
