I like the dark chocolate coated ones.

    • Me too. I'm working my way through four packets over the weekend!

Question of the week - these or double-coated chocolate Tim-Tams?

      • Tim tams if you wish to drink tea through it.
The digestives are slightly healthier and you get more per packet.

        • +3

          The digestives are slightly healthier

Yeah, I know I usually reach for the biscuit's when I want a healthy meal, good choice. Nothin like refined flour and sugar named something vaguely to do with colons for a healthy treat.

        • +7

THE INGREDIENTS IN THIS BISCUIT DO NOT CONTAIN ANY SUBSTANCE THAT ASSIST DIGESTION

        • @Diji1:
I know! I tried dipping fruit into my tea but it's not the same. :/
The question was Tim tams or Digestives?
Digestives are slightly healthier as it contains less sugar.

    • Oh yes me too! I find the milk ones too sweet.

  • +1

    Still made in the UK?

    • +1

      ahuh.. ahuh

      • Warming up the car then…

        • cheap flights to UK!

  • +1

Damn, I didn't notice this yesterday. They go well with almost any cheese.

    • +1

PJC is starting to sound like PRC.

      • sorry… but thats a bit cheesie!

      • Last week my wife insisted we pay $4.40 for a pack because I like them with cheese while watching Tour de France on SBS. I'll probably get 5 packs on Monday or Tuesday.

        • +4

You put cheese on a chocolate biscuit? O_o

        • @systmworks: No, the plain Digestives.

  • +1

My favourite part about these biscuits is that even though they call them "digestives" they are legally forced to print a disclaimer on the packaging acknowledging that not a single ingredient in them aids digestion in any way, shape or form. Not sure why anyone would eat these rather than a pack of Tim Tams or similar.

    • +14

      Why? Cos they are yum.

Your negative vote re name of product may be invalid.
Half price choc biscuits (that are obviously popular) is a valid bargain.

      • +3

        No the neg is valid.
Warning people about the misleading name

        • It's just a name.
Has anyone sued Apple because their phones are not round and juicy ?

        • +1

@systmworks: but this is a food. It is not unreasonable to expect 2 weeks of diarrhoea after eating something which such a name.

        • @Gimli: we have very different views on what is considered digestion :)

        • @systmworks: lol. i may have exaggerated slightly…

    • +1

They are cheaper than Tim Tams?

  • +3

Have to grab a few packs, great biscuit to have with a cuppa.

Just don't worry about them being called 'Digestives' they believed weird things back in the 1800's https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digestive_biscuit

    • +2

About 8 years ago Coles discontinued their own-label Digestives. My wife thought I was crazy to buy 15 packs but at 20c they were an excellent substitute for these.

  • +2

I never liked those much, just go to Aldi and buy $1 arrowroot biscuits.

    • +3

Those are good value but rather different to Digestives.

    • +1

      I never liked you much.

      • Why are you being personal? that was rude.

        • -1

I could say the same about your comment, Digestives are scrumptious!

  • +2

These are great, bought a lot of them when they were on special for 0.99c at riteprice.

    • Was that the 400g pack?

      • +1

        Yes, Caramel

        • I'm impressed. Superb deal for 99c but no Rite Price in NSW.

        • +1

@PJC: Riteprice I Think are like NQR in victoria. Thet sell discontinued line, short "Best Before" items. I just picked up a box of 12 Packets of Grainwaves large packets for $3..

        • @techboy: That's good too. We don't have NQR either.

  • Chocklit HobNobs!

    16.8% sugar … no thanks.

    • +2

It's all relative.. Tim Tams are 44.9% sugar, according to the Arnott's website.

I find them sickly sweet but even that was a surprise.

      • +2

It might be relative but both are junk food.

I guess at least these unhealthy biscuits have less sugar than most of the crappy breakfast cereals. I stick with one of the lowest .. Kelloggs Corn Flakes at 8% which still isn't great .. but I am still not a very healthy eater.

    • yep agree $2.20 is still a bit pricey for only 16.8% sugar

      • Just had a can of Lift softdrink … only 8% sugar .. not bad really.

        • how much did the lift cost you

        • +1

          @Gimli:

Haha … I know where you're going with this …

          LIFT
it was half-price so about $6 for 12 cans
          so 50c per 375ml can
          375ml = 30g of sugar (based on 8%)
          1g of sugar = 1.6c

          DIGESTIVE
          $2.20 for 400g packet
          400g = 68g of sugar (based on 17%)
          1g of sugar = 3.2c

LIFT WINS … image the bargain if you bought a higher sugar soft drink like Coke at 11%!

These are good for making cheesecake base!

    • +2

Yes, so are Arrowroot, which are cheaper.

      • +2

        And less sweet

        • but causes less diarrhoea.

  • I like them straight, no dunking at all

  • Thanks OP I scored 5 packs today. They were $1.99 at IGA a few months ago but this is still good.

  • My favourite when I lived in England and my favourite especially when they're half price. Three boxes came home with me today. Prefer these over Tim Tams any day.
