Good for those who don't have lifetime free maps. Figured out that code in the banner deal in the mydrive app on PC was MAP40OFF. 10% better than their winter sale. They also have the 1.5 year (6 updates) option for $56.97 after 40% off.
TomTom 40% off Australian Map Updates. $53.97 for 1 Year (4 Updates) / $56.97 1.5 Year (6 Updates)

Not for learners and P platers in nsw. http://roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au/stayingsafe/mobilepho…
Geez they're generous to black license holders compared to Vic. A mate's missus got charged with using a mobile whilst in control of a vehicle because she pulled over, turn off the car, but had the keys in the ignition (this technically is still in control of a vehicle).
But if you're a L or P platwr? You're probably a teenager? Know it all anyway & thus makes maps (&google) irrelevant :-)
Do they have speed & red light camera warnings?
Yep
Why need them… just do the speed limit and no pain $$$$$$
… and plenty of other good map apps..
People still pay for maps ?
More money than sense..
Rather pay for Sygic once off lifetime maps

"LIFETIME FREE UPDATE MAPS" WHERE IS THE ACCC???
Lifetime free updates usually mean for the lifetime of the device. What is even more confusing is not the 'usable lifetime' of the GPS unit, but it refers to how long they intend to keep supporting the device.
Once the support is dropped, they stop updating.
I have a TomTom which is several years old, and get updates. But Google Maps has improved sufficiently by now that I dare to rely on it. Except perhaps in the country (no reception for one).
Use Waze app it’s free.
plenty of others too.
Google maps….but shhh it's a secret
