Steggles Family Uncooked Whole Roast Chicken 1/2 Price $2.90kg @ Coles

230

Down, Down, Steggles chicken is down to 1/2 price

So cheap I'm going to buy a few for my baby Jake, he's sick of eating Hamza's Domino's specials.

This is a catalogue special and may not be available in your area, I'm on the NSW North coast.

  • Hope this isn't a dupe as there's so many Coles deals.

Thanks, Jake wants to mount you.

        • That's the third time I've heard that today.

          @KLoNe:

          You must be extremely mountable.

Thanks Scab! Haha your name reminds me of scab duty back in the day.
How much of the chook do you give your dog?
I want to try raw chicken with my dog but not sure about the bones etc. Which are ok and Which aren't, I know cooked bones are bad.

How much of the chook do you give your dog?

Jake is raw fed, he's 20 months old and 32 KG, eats about 750g to 1.2 KG of meat a day.

Normally costs me about $8-10 per day to feed him, so this saves me a heap.

Raw chicken bones are fine, they're extremely soft and won't hurt your dog.

If your dog is small and gulps their food, I wouldn't give it necks or wings though.

Great, thanks a bunch for the info. Sounds like Jake lives like a king!
My dog is about same age and 25kgs usually feed him Tucker Time and Black Hawk but like to give him a treat sometimes.

It's great that you're feeding your dog a decent food and not supermarket rubbish.

Oh and Jake wants to mount your dog.

        • @Scab: Yeah you gotta get on board, probably a bit of a scam-ish though. I remember our dogs growing up ate super market rubbish and lived pretty good lives.
I'm not sure my dog bats for that team but he does mount anything that moves so maybe Jake's in.

I remember our dogs growing up ate super market rubbish and lived pretty good lives.

Oh they can live long and somewhat healthy lives on the stuff, but it can also cause issues, that's why you see a lot of dogs with allergies, skin and dental problems.

Dogs aren't designed to eat grain or a lot of carbs, they evolved over thousands of years to eat meat, grain-based commercial foods have only been around for the last century or so.

You notice the difference with a good diet straight away, their poo isn't as voluminous or gritty, doesn't attract flies or stink a lot, breaks down in the soil within a few days and they don't shed as much.

And if I don't give Jake some bones to munch on every week his breath starts to smell and there's plague on his teeth, half an hour of chewing a bone and his breath is fresh and teeth are white and perfect.

Kibble only is the worst stuff for teeth as it cakes on around the gum line.

        • @Scab: Yeah the bones are great for their teeth and gums etc. Not a fan of people that only give their dogs kibble, in this day and age.

This is a crazy deal. Don't eat this, it will give you salmonella.

    I trust Jake enjoys

    • Bought 8 chickens for just $50, if I had a deep freeze I would have Brodened the place to hell.

He had half a chook last night just before bed, his favourite part is the skin, Jake loves chicken skin.

      • George likes his chicken spicy.

Jake wants to mount you too.

@Scab: have you considered taking Jake to one of those um, you know therapist.
It sounds as, how can I say, babnormalities?

          @Wystri Warrick:

I take him to doggie school every Sat morning and he tries to mount all the other dogs, Jake loves mounting.

@Scab: wonder what his libido is going to be like in old age :/

  • Wow, just bought another chicken and it's absolutely massive, 3.106KG.

This thing is the size of a small turkey, way to go selective breeding.
