Shopping for a 50-55" Bargain TV

I have been eyeing a couple of TVs at around this size and at a cheap price but I want your guys' opinions on them. What are the pros and cons when choosing a budget brand of television, and what would stop you guys from choosing them over name brands? Also is it worth just waiting until I find a better price?

What's the model and where did you buy that from? Also how much was the TV and Extended warranty?

    • Yeah that sounds pretty good, where did you find that?

      • it was the hisense 58inch one that was kicking around. I think good guys had it and sold out, i bought it from joyce mayne. I know video pro (ebay store) also had plenty and did free delivery.

The quality of the hisense is meant to be up there with the big brands, unlike the other cheap brands (Soniq etc)…with a 3 year manufacture warranty compared with everyone elses 1 year warranty (sony, samsung etc. included)

Tv cost 950 and extended warranty was 240 and he gave it to me for 150.

Been using it for a few weeks now. no complaints.

Currently have the same viano model from big w. Have had it a few weeks now.
It has a relatively thin bezel at this price point and looks pretty good.
Has decent picture quality on my ps4 pro.
Only con is the in built speakers are absolutely terrible but that's to be expected at this price point.

    • I almost bought one a few weeks ago at $479.20 but I couldn't bring it home. Does it play .h265 files?

  • ALDI have a TV special pretty regularly. I have the 65" one and am quite happy with it. Also has a 60 day NQA return policy so you can take it back if it doesn't tickle your fancy.

    • Whats the picture quality like? Any good for games?

Yeah quite good. Shit for SD tv but good for netflix, XBOX One. You do need to tweak the settings though. There are a few guides on how to do it for ALDI TVs online.
