Can't enter network unlock code, no keyboard?

Hi all,

Ordered a recent amaysim for my parents using a Telstra locked Buzz 4GX. Ordered an unlock code from eBay, and my dad put sim in. Gets to unlock screen and claims to have tapped the screen 100 times with no keyboard coming up to enter code. Any ideas?

      I'm not going to neg vote you but how the hell would Amaysim be able to help.

      Sounds like a fault with the phone to me.

      OP, tell your dad to take the sim out. Put the telstra sim in and see if the phone works. Is the keyboard/ screen working at all?

      Those el cheapo androids are horrid. Older people also struggle to use them. Are you able to go to his house to see if he is tapping in the correct place ??

    Is there something wrong with the keyboard that's installed? Does the keyboard pop up anywhere else?

    You could try:

    1. Type the code into a text/word document or even an SMS
    2. Long press, select and copy
    3. When it comes to typing in the code, long press in the field and paste.

    Cheers all. No issue with phone whatsoever with Telstra sim. I recon they are using the google keyboard and they might need to set it to the default one. As the unlock screen is pretty boot up.

    Sorted! Put the phone in flight mode, then restart with foreign sim. Thanks all
