  I was in Bali and paid $10 for 6gb/month, and I don't believe that Thailand prices would be far from that. How can 500mb/14d be a bargain?

  no deal, in Vietnam you can pay up to 300,000VND (around $15AUD) for 30GB of 4G mobile plan includes call credits, or even better deals with preactivated sims

  49AUD per week or 210AUD per month for 500mb?!
  Besides there being gigabit wifi everywhere a sim can be purchased from any convenience store and i barely spent 25AUD per month on data, local and international calls.

  way overpriced. My daughter was in Vietnam in Jan, about $10 for 3 weeks of calls & data.
