I would like to buy a Xiaomi note 4 but know nothing about how to go about it.

I've bought from HKGoldway on AliExpress, phone arrived in 12 days and with a legit tracking number, thought I had a very good experience with them some on here have not had the same experience about 8 weeks delivery etc.
Would also like to add my 2cents; HKGoldway on aliexpress is pretty nice. Bought a redmi 4x for my mum with express delivery and it arrived within 5days. Tracking number did take a day to process, but it worked with DHL. Though be careful with entering the address, city. I live in brisbane and I entered "Brisbane" as my city; the seller contacted me quite quickly to say that it wasn't recognised by DHL with the provided postcode.
Bonus: since phones are chinese brand, the included charger can't be used without an adapter; the seller had provided me an aus adapter and a screen protector as well.
Is this phone any good?
I punched in my requirements in GSMARENA and this one came up.
Decent battery, reasonable specs, gyro, compass etc.
And it's seems cheap as!
Is there any reason why I shouldn't give this one a go?
And I do need a decent solid case.
I'm using a Sony Xperia XA but it's just not good enough.
Consider buying from vickmall (I've bought from there before without issue).
Download the latest global rom from official miui download site. Copy the recovery rom to the phone, use the "Update" app to install by selecting the downloaded ROM. Then do factory reset for good measure.
PS: just checked vickmall and price isn't great and no stock. Consider HKGoldway on AliExpress (I've not ordered from there but read reasonable things from others). Only issue with AliExpress is you can't use PayPal so no protection from paypal or refunded return shipping cost.
