My partner is a big fan of baby wipes, but I'm not so much a fan of their environmental impact. She recently installed a Gedye compost bin but I note only some consumables marked 'compostable' are actually compostable domestically, rather than commercially, due in part to the chemicals that may be toxicly leached. Compostable wipes are aplenty, whereas those certified for domestic composting are few.

I'm not sure why you're confusing being biodegradeable with "environmental impact" but most of the damage is done before you throw nappies out.
Despite the bleating of extremists who lead around the ignorant having more landfill does not harm the environment beyond the dump it goes to because it's contained and we will never run out of room for landfill.
However making one use nappies, well that is a waste of resources and energy.
NO. keep it simple when its come to compose bin. https://www.gaiam.com/blogs/discover/can-i-compost-this
