Buying with MrPorter.com - cancelled orders and credit card checks ?

I placed an order with Mr Porter and they cancelled it without informing me stating that the bank had not approved it, despite it showing up on my credit card as pending and approved. It then took almost a week for the charge to be removed to release the credit. The item has since been out of stock. So clearly not happy about that transaction.

I tried with another order yesterday and this time they are asking for card verification when they provide a <1 GBP to be credited to my card.

Is this normal ? Has anyone else had the same terrible shopping experience with Mr Porter ?

I am currently still waiting for that <1 GBP credit to my card.

  use paypal whenever shopping online when you can.

      Mr Porter is probably one of the best boutique stores online, you may have just gotten caught up in their credit card authenticity checks. Paypal will sort you out and be way better down the road if anything were to arise

        Thanks - just had a chat with them, and they said, even if with Paypal, they will get me through this authenticity check. Let's see how it goes.

  hmm never bought from them before so i can't really comment.

  If it's that bad may I ask what you're buying that you can't buy from elsewhere. Mr Porter is pretty pricy.

    Some items from Mr Porter are actually even cheaper than at Farfetch - (the only reason I'm persisting to go there) and have them in the size I'm after…lol. Otherwise, Farfetch has been impeccable in their service. The burdens of chasing the "savings"
