Just my luck as soon as most of the EOFY sales have ended my microwave decides to die.
I went to look at microwaves today and thought that having a convection microwave would be good as i don't have a toaster or grill.
I've read many reviews online and nothing seems to come out looking great.
so what i am after is real life experiences from ozbs and and recommendations.
Maximum $600 but ideally best value for money.

Not really planning to use the convection oven - more of a grill / toaster.
They arent great. I had a crack because our main oven is always full. Just use the convection bit to warm plates now.

If you just want a normal microwave Aldi has one starting 8th july (black or white colour) for $49.99
Might be better getting a cheapie and then buying a grill separate. Prob work out alot cheaper
thought about this. the real question is bench space. I have 'plenty' of bench space but the more you have the less you have.
We have had a large Panasonic Genius Inverter Dimension 4 for 10 years (free 2nd hand)and no other oven or grill. We have the absolute best of both worlds, barring wanting to microwave when the convection/grill is in use.
1000w, and some useful programs built in too, such as combination Micro/Grill and or Convection all on a timer to set and forget.
It will one day be replaced with a steam version, but I will never waste my money or kitchen cupboard space with a built in oven and then another space taken up by a MWave. One device suits us fine, but this is a Holiday Resort with a max of only 4 persons, although we have been here 15 years. My pork roast and crackling are to die for, so yes, they do function brilliantly.
I doubt you will get much for only 6 bills.
don't get the conventional oven, they take longer to cook than a normal oven. Definitely not worth the money.
