  • I've had the following:

    Justcar insurance
    Famous classic insurance

    • no more justcar :(
and i just quoted famous waiting for reply
How much was it and how much was agreed value?

      • famous just denied me

        • +1

Guy, under 25, high performance turbo.. You really have to take what you can get. Oh, and be sure you know what their policy is towards mods.

  • Have you tried Woolworths Insurance ?

    • It would be worth trying coles too, you can pick your own price.

      • 14k :( max

        • what would be the premium ?

        • @boomramada:'
it was fairly high more than 2.5k if i rememebr around 3ish

        • @jonez1213:

look like AAMI is the value for money, have you try Allianz ? both AAMI and Allianz have same features.

    • yep tried it 13k

  • Wow op paying dearly for the type of car or just the age, hey op, just for comparison, what your premium for eg basic Lancer LS 2016? just try AAMI if you dont mind:)

    • tell me about it im dyin here

Lancer ES 2016 20k agreed and annual pay is 2.6k under my name
if i could get that for my evo id jump on it right away lol

      • +1

haha sorry dude, its a age thing, you have to pay dearly now, but look into the bright side, at my age, you be paying only $600 ;)
But when I was at your age, i had a 4k car on third party insurance lol :)

        • 4k for third party… man i feel for ya

        • @jonez1213:

ahh what I meant was, I had a cheap arse 4k car, since its cheap, I only got third party insurance, like $300 at that time :)

        • @boomramada:
oh yeah i thought it was a lil odd for 4k third party hahaha

  • Damn, that's a high price to pay for driving a classic car. Obviously they've deemed it a pretty high risk, I say go ahead without the agreed $20K value and try to save money as you go. Make sure you declare any modifications the car has received otherwise they can deny your claim.

    • most likely will be going under AAMI under parents name as if anything should happen id just have to pay additional excess, they are more nice about it

      • Sounds like a good plan and good job with going for comprehensive insurance - too many people try to cheat the system and save a few bucks, burns them in the end.

        • rather lose 10k from my car than have no insurance and lose 27 haha just gotta bite the bullet for 2 years i guess

  • Still expensive til you're at least 30 :(
Try adding extra drivers to make it cheaper such as fe/male older drivers with no at fault claims.

    BTW nice choice

  • any suggestions would be great

Drive carefully and save your money in a high interest account — self-insure.

    • With 3rd party property though..

  • RACV - you could take a minimum home contest insurance from RACV for about $100 and get multi policy discount of 10% on car insurance. Also give them a call and check if the premium can be reduced by higher excess or low kms.

  • Try bingle, their insurance is issued by AAI limited (same as AAMI and Shannons).
$2000 a year for an 08 STI, male under 25, no parents listed. Was the cheapest quote by far.

    • agreed value?

      • Yeah agreed value of 28k. $795 excess

        • +1

under ur name? thats pretty good most insurance giving me high premiums cos of no previous insurer
