Philips 43" 4K IPS Monitor BDM4350UC $760.75 Delivered (Plus $100 EFTPOS Card via Redemption) @ Gaming-City eBay

250
CRACKER

This monitor was favored last time around so thought of putting it up, the price hasn't changed but since this includes free shipping, it's $15 cheaper than the last deal. I've almost pulled the trigger but measured up my desk and figured this is not gonna fit. But it's a really good alternative to an ultrawide especially if it's a 34" 1080p ultrawide that you are looking at.

Philips $100 EFTPOS card with purchase of selective Philips 4K monitors

I'm linking the last deal since there were a couple of very helpful comments/insights and links to reviews in it. Don't forget CR.

    There's a Phillips 40" 4K that's rather nicer in that it's curved …

Reviews of this this 40" curved (I forget the model but I think it's got a white backing) I think mentions of large amounts of blurring or smudge like effect. I saw a video of this of someone pointing it out playing I think battlefield 1.

I was interested in that curved 40" as well.

yeah that turned me off the 40" as well, pretty unfortunate although I think 40 might be too big for me as well

    Nice price.

Though this monitor is glossy, looks terrible for creative work. It's the opposite of what you want if you're a designer, like looking into a mirror.

Once they include HDR at this size and price I might bite. I want a monitor to use with my laptop as well as Xbox One S.

Interesting point, given the decreasing interest in broadcast TV & rise in ad hoc / streaming viewing, "TV" is an increasingly irrelevant phenomenon. It'd be nice to have a display screen capable of handling gaming requirements of PC & consoles, but also good for media playback and doing work.

Yes, it would be great to have an all rounder monitor. It didn't use to be so difficult years ago, I bought a 24" FHD monitor for Xbox 360 and PC gaming + productivity and it worked great, and cost around $300. But now the technology isn't really keeping up and you have to make compromises or buy multiple monitors/tv's. Now that I have seen HDR on the 4K TV it is definitely something I want in my next monitor, the resolution also makes text much sharper and images really pop. Desperate to upgrade from my FHD monitor.. but there aren't really any options that I can justify right now.
