    • Not sure what price they were when you posted, but "Scentsy" bars are usually $7-$10 for one.
So, 2 for $9 is pretty decent.

  • Hi guys
This is a deal. 2 melt packs for $9
My apologies as I am new to oz bargan

    ABN is 22620135913

    • +2

      new to oz bargan

      New to spelling too ?

      • they fixed "Catalogue"

      • +3

Why you giving them such a hard time?

They're pretty clearly brand new if you look at their site and their FB page and are probably just getting started up.

And their ABN is written on their webpage (although, not sure if that was added before or after your post).

        • +1

If they weren't pushed into meeting basic OzBargain posting guidelines, they seemed to have failed to read, their advertising would have again been removed.

They needed to be told again to list a bargain, price including shipping, etc in title & an ABN listed on site to be posted.

You would prefer it unpublished again?
They've learnt how to publish a bargain on OzBargain.

        • -2

@Infidel: Mate, people make far bigger cock-ups on here when putting up a post, especially their first one.

The OP is obviously new and learning the ropes… there's no need for the usual suspects to jump down their throat when they could just as easily report educate them, and report the post.

We ought to be encouraging people to use the site, not drive them away.
The whole mob mentality on this site gets pretty old sometimes.

          @Deviner:
While I don't like unnecessary criticism & have posted comments against it, there was a need for constructive criticism in this deal. The only neg was taken down as inappropriate. But OzBargain being OzBargain, people will have their fun…

As I said they were heading for another unpublished deal for not meeting OzBargain posting guidelines. Those guidelines apply to all businesses. Businesses are meant to read those before posting.

You seem to misunderstand some of the processes of OzBargain. The post was reported last time they posted & unpublished (about 10 hours ago). You suggest it should have been reported again… & would have been unpublished again! I think that may have driven them away, more than some criticism of their posting.

They didn't give up & came back with a publishable bargain, after some coaching. I don't expect they will make the same mistakes again. You've got to have resilience to be in business. And a sense of humour goes down well here. They were helped by the criticism into their first deal.

        • @Infidel: Completely agree, constructive criticism is absolutely fine and clearly warranted here.

I'm talking mostly about the stream of negative comments at the start that ended up getting unpublished, including jv's usual bs spam which even went as far as calling the OP a scammer.
Went someones trying to sell something, the word 'scammer' has a pretty good effect on driving people away.
If you went down your constructive criticism line of thinking, they could have simply just asked the OP for clarification on ABN's and so on.

There was no evidence here to a previous deal that got unpublished, and I didn't see it when it happened earlier on, so there was no way I could tell what you were referencing.

        • +1

          @Deviner:
          Stopping jv is useless ;-)

Earlier deal is showing as unpublished
          This deal is not published.
BombScents - Quality Handmade Soy Candles and More Starting at $5.50 (No bargain listed)
          .
I gave the time (about 10pm last night - OzBargain Time) so you could see that had happened.

they could have simply just asked the OP for clarification on ABN's and so on.

They already had! I'm sure that's why some were justifiably annoyed!

Some of those who tried to have the OP post a bargain, price, show ABN, etc in previous deal - posted those same concerns here. OP had previously ignored some of those requests. Deal was reported & Mods took it down. There was good reason to unpublished, and ample opportity for OP to correct it. It was basically Spam in my opinion.

So not surprising when deal was again posted soon after without those details or bargain or price included in title, it was again criticised. OP had become a serial offender - not loved on OzBargain.

Coming into the conversation part way through, you may have missed these concerns. But your criticising those who were critical was without true understanding.

There are numerous questions online about "Scentsy" marketing being a scam. Anyone associating their business with it will draw questions. Of course it seems this business is selling Scentsy-like products. That may be against posting guidelines as being fakes, but I doubt it. So it is valid to ask a few questions…

        • +1

          @Deviner:
When you arrive hours into a deal, that has had several revisions (& previous deal unpublished for good reason), previous comments may make no sense! Without looking to understand why those comments were made, your newcomer comment may be wrong or misguided.

Unfortunately the sanctimonious don't concern themselves with these facts, don't ask why, just decry the comments. It happens a bit on OzBargain :-(

          This deal was posted as
BombScents Quality Homemade Soy Candles & Melts
No bargain or price listed in Deal Title (against guidelines), despite being unpunlished a few hours earlier for same issue:
BombScents - Quality Handmade Soy Candles and More Starting at $5.50 (no bargain listed).

A "bargain" was listed & code supplied in Description. But necessary shipping (unless you live in Broken Hill) was not added by OP but by Mod later. ABN still was not available & business contact via gmail as pointed out doesn't reassure potential buyers. It's wise to be aware of this, thanks to experienced Ozbargainers.

Previous deal had a strange comment in Description of being Vegan free candles - which caused some interesting comments.

So blaming some OzBargainers for the quality of their comments while excusing the OP who seeks to benefit from posting advertising here, misses the point of the OzBargain community, in my opinion.

        • +1

@Infidel: Looked at the user's previous posts/comments, didn't look into revisions.
Assumed that an unpublished deal was the end of it and a new deal needed to be posted rather than having the ability to rev up.

Anyways, I think this has run it's course.
I get you what you're saying and agree the OP probably needed to be given a slap on the wrist based on earlier attempts… but the 'regulars' here need to chill out a little and give people some slack sometimes.

  • How much is postage ?

      2 Melt Packs for $9 + $15 Shipping

LOL… Price has now gone from $9 to $24 !!

      No deal !!!

  • Hey OP, I'm guessing these are compatible with Scentsy warmers?

    • Hi, these are compatible with Scentsy and any other warmer that is made for melt packs. They are also slightly bigger than Scentsy ones. Just adding to the great value already offered. We also sell warmers, and have some beautiful new designs coming very soon.

  • +1

OP please tell us the weight we get for the price.

    • Hi,
My apologies for the previous miscommunication. Our melt packs weigh(Net) between 76 and 80 grams each. Including the clam shell they weigh approximately 95 grams. This is in comparison to 68-70 grams for a Scentsy melt pack, which cost $7.75. Our melt packs and candles are also hand made using high quality soy wax.
      Thank you,
      - William

        Thank you.

  • +1

Hi. Our melts are compatible with Scentsy warmers :). Postage is up to 5kg

    • +2

That is not what I asked. How much does each $5.50 soy melt pack weigh please?

      • +3

They would weigh approx 150grams (going by the one's my wife buys) and they look like the exact same packaging.

        • Did you ask her permission before handling her Scentsys & writing about it here ;-)

        • Thanks but photos can be misleading and OP's website doesn't disclose the weight. If they are about 150 grams OP will sell more by confirming that.

Good research. Shipping is the problem for those buying with this deal.

But are they Vegan free as in the OP's first deal ;-)

      • +1

Oh, I hope so, and gluten free too, and the soy should be organic because burning anything inferior would endanger the environment.

Yes, delivery (never any ships at Broken Hill) kills the deal. If the flat rate was $5 I think OP could get some revenue.

        • +1

I think I'm Vegan Intolerant. Can only take them in small doses ;-)

        • @Infidel: First, the animals must be set free. Next, they get the vote. Then a global apology. But will voting be compulsory?

        • +1

@Infidel: I know that feeling! I need housemates who don't oppose to my beeswax candles and plastic bottle collecting ways.

@Infidel: Beeswax would be wasted if we didn't gather it for candles?

And why I learnt from Kevin Rudd how to make candles from human ear wax👂 But don't eat it like he does ;-)

        • @Infidel: Just tell your Vegan guests it is an organic spread for toast.
