Value for money Dishwasher?

Need to get a replacement dishwasher for my investment property. I know the dimensions, but what I'm a little confused about is.. What happens if I buy a dishwasher which has dimensions slightly smaller than what's been quoted to me (from my property manager)? I would imagine it's fine because it's smaller?

Looking for a bargain for this too btw :P

Thanks in advance

  • Really?

    • I don't have a dishwasher of my own and have never owned one (have always lived in older style houses/apartments) so I don't know whether these dimensions refer to a physical bracket or a just a physical space?

      • Ask the property manager to clarify?

        • I have. Awaiting response and trying to get some feedback before ebay sale ends :P

  • +2

Just had to replace one in an investment property as well.
Ordered the Euromaid DR14W $384 from appliances online (free del if metro area).

Reviews are pretty good and I personally have a Euromaid washing machine for about 3 years now no issues.

  • Obviously no need to go expensive, but can I suggest you don't just go for the cheapest and smallest unit you can find?

You'll have more issues with maintenance and complaining tenants in the short term, where for an extra $100 or so you can get a half decent washer that'll last problem free for years, and tenants won't give you a headache complaining all the time.

An entry level Dishlex model (doesn't have to be all computerised etc), would be a better option. Readily available parts, easy to service, and won't break the bank to buy.

In regards to size, most dishwashers are a standard size these days.
I'm not sure I understand the question you have though? You're worried buying a dishwasher "smaller" than normal?
Other than aesthetics, and that a smaller cheaper no name brand washer will inevitably fail earlier and give crappy performance, I don't see the issue.

Remember though, if this thing springs a leak due to it being a cheap Chinese knockoff, the resultant water damage could be substantial.
Just sayin. Don't go too cheap.

  • Our rental has a ALDI sterling one, seems to go okay, just use cheap detergent and try to scrape plates as much as possible
