Cheers mate. didnt really look any further after i splashed out $159 2wks ago on the mouse @ JB and $197 just last week on the keyboard @ EB :(. wonder if they'll refund the difference…?
JB do refund the difference. My sister bought a phone and two weeks later it was on sale for $200 less than the original price. Went in store and they refunded the difference. Not sure about EB.
Thanks Harshad! Ive heard that a few times now that they did that. Are you aware if thats an official policy for jb though? Just couldnt find that specifically and was wondering what the chances were and what exactly youd need to say. I rekon eb would do the same. Otherwise itd be a return and refund, then off to jb :p
@daegis: Eb I think would be depending on the store. My local store said no to me straight up given the price dropped the day after. You will have more luck at JB,
@daegis: I don't think its an official policy. If I am not wrong, only the good guys and Harvey Norman have an official policy. I just went and asked them if they have a some kind of 30 day price guarantee where they refund the difference or offer like a gift card of an equivalent amount. The sales man told me to talk to the manager. Told the manager the same thing and he said he can refund the difference. So I guess you just have to ask nicely and hope for the best.
@Harshad: Just a quick update and thanks to you all for your awesome help and advice! Asked politely both JB and EB, and both refunded me the difference!
So cheers to JB HIIFI and EB Games will definitely be back to you both in due course!
Not an official policy but 2-3 weeks will refund if your nice about it
I think g502 is way better than g900
How do you figure?
They both use the Pixart 3366 sensor, which is still one of the best sensors around. Software wise, they use the same software. Yes, the g900 is ambidextrous so might not be the best for everyone. The button shapes and layout is slightly different to account for this, but I don't mind, the reason below.
Also the g900 is wireless, meaning I have to do less cable management. Using micro-usb to charge, I charge about once a week. Plug it into my phone charger overnight. Boom! Being wireless though, you might have a bit more latency. I'm not superman, can't tell the difference. Works well for the games I play like Overwatch.
Price wise too the G502 is about half of what you will pay for the g900. Given they have the exact same sensors, the g900 will benefit you if are left handed and want a wireless function to work flawlessly - then get the g900 and pay twice the price.
Note that g903 is coming out soon in Aus. It supports wireless charging.
http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/product/g903-wireless-gamin…Any idea on an approximate date? If it's in the up coming month or two I might just wait for it. Otherwise I'll just grab the G900 for $127, good price :D
I have no idea actually.
Stuff that, bring back the AA battery!
Agree. As an OzBargainer, I have plenty of Eneloops.
I'm planning to get the g502, and held out during the 15% sitewide on ebay, and it looks like it is cheaper now. Overall, would this be the go to mouse at $63 for everyday tasks and gaming? Need some opinions on it, thanks! :D
I have the G502, was happy enough to buy another one. Pretty solid for FPS
Thanks very much, will grab one today. Looks like this mouse has solid positive reviews.
It's quality in terms of precision is the same as the g900, like I mentioned earlier, you can save your money and get the g502 instead if you don't need it's wireless function, left hand friendly, and you don't care about customising the mouse to a preferred weight. I personally prefer the g502 for it's weight function (use to a heavier mouse) as I didn't know that the g900 doesn't let you customise the weight. To directly answer your question, yes it's perfect for everyday tasks and gaming :)
Thanks for your input, definitely will grab this today.
I a using G502 RGB for more than a year now. Perform great for everyday use and gaming. Love how it feels in hand, my friend who has smaller palm also loves it. He said the shape of it makes he feels a lot more comfortable than others that he tried in the past.
Thanks for this, just popped out and grabbed a G900 to replace my dead G602.
Ha! My g602 just died as well! Although it's still within warranty so I might see what Logitech offer first
Probably wait before buying this. Logitech is releasing a wireless mouse soon. It can be wirelessly charged.
True, but i havent heard when and you will need to buy the wireless charging mouse too i believe.
Correct - the wireless charging system is another significant cost on top: http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/product/powerplay-wireless-…
It's cool technology and I'm interested in seeing if it becomes mainstream, but US$100 is too expensive for the small convenience of not having to plug your mouse in once a week (IMO, of course).
Sorry should have read "charging mouse pad too"
Bought the G900 for $190 just over a year ago and it's still going strong. Hands down ;) the best mouse I've ever used. The wireless responsiveness is unreal - no noticeable input lag whatsoever.
In my opinion the only real advantages of the g502 is the price and possibly the position of the macro buttons? The weights feature is a bit gimmicky.
G900 gives you the same great tech but added mechanical pivot buttons, ambidextrous and wireless. The mechanical pivot very satisfying to press and great if you have small hands. After using a wireless mouse it makes wired mice super uncomfortable when gaming (unless you use a cord bungee or something). This wireless mice performs just as good a wired gaming mice. In fact, it performed better than some wired mice.
Since the bluetooth range is very decent, I use the mouse as a remote control when browsing movies from my bed or couch. Programmed one of the buttons to bring up the on-screen keyboard and another button to turn off my second screen. The scroll left and right buttons are used to adjust volume.
