"never on sale ever" technically true but it's early access and only been out 3 months.
Garry Newman said Rust would never go on sale while in early access, then when the discounts started he said "never say never". It didn't take long from the first discount for it to be in a humble pack.
The thing is battlegrounds has been the number 1 seller on steam for months straight now, so they have no need to discount since the demand is still ridiculously high. Additionally a game like battlegrounds get destroyed by hackers and discounting the game causes hackers to buy a ton of secondary accounts with the game so they have even less reason to discount it(see CSGO)

Actually glad I bought this one on Steam, didn't care for it and got a refund within 2 hours of play.
Personally I'd value it between $15 to $20 AUD.
Its still early access, but I do feel the hype around it is a little unwarranted. You will find a lot of down time as you start due to the learning curve. I definitely think its a game you will get the most out of if you play with friends as a group. (I didn't neg you and I think it's fair to say this game is not for everyone)
Solo play is great fun - but Duo and Squad are amazing.

but it plays better than dayz and no there are no zombies, the dev are planning to add it as a custom game
I've put in 100's of hours into DayZ over the years and still think QUOP plays better than DayZ. Less glitches!
DayZ is more survival with a side of PvP. This game is pure PvP focus with minor survival mechanics.
It's like hunger games the video game basically. You're all dropped on an island and fight until one man (or team) is left standing.
It's just bloody fun. Do yourself a favour and grab it!

been playing for a month now. well worth $30aud despite not a finished game. lots of fun (especially with your pals) and very little niggling (delay when opening/closing doors, picking up items for first minute or so) bugs have a minor effect on gameplay - none of which are game breaking.
That's just silly. It's completely worth it.

@Originality: Can you link that account via the steam family sharing to your main account? My dodge thinking is seeing a benefit of having an account for buying games on a different store (China - Germany) and then play them via the Family sharing.
I have the game but I wouldn't say it matches up with the hype completely.
Pros:
Good overall game concept
Seems relatively balanced
A fair few ways to approach each game depending on situation
A decent challenge (only one winner out of 80-90 each game)
Cons:
Unpolished game - lots of room for improvement still
Game not graphically optimised (lowest settings still yields me 60-80fps on a GTX960)
Servers not the fastest it can be compared to other games
Recommend watching it on youtube before purchasing to see if you like it

Honestly not a bad game, but the performance of the servers and the optimization are shit. 16gb ram rx480 8gb and 6600k, i get 50 fps on the medium preset at 1080p, so if you dont have a beefy system, wait for the patches

On Topic: Casual gamers should note that this game is still in beta and is super thirsty for computer resources, even on the lowest settings. It's not at all optimised and sometimes experiences weird errors that the devs are normally pretty quick to fix (such as the recent server connection issues).

Its an awesome game. Read the guides to unlock cores, monitor refresh rates and other tweaks for performance improvements. I also use ReShader. If you liked DayZ mod you'll like this, good battle royale for an early release with an active dev team.
