Dell U2515h Display

Hi guys,

About to buy this from ebay.

However, I have purchased the Lenovo e470 recently from ozbargain. It says the laptop display is 1080p.

However, the display from the dell monitor u2515h is greater. Will this mean the resolution on the dell monitor is restricted to 1080p as per laptop, or 1440p as per monitor.

Please advise.

Thanks ozbargain

If you're using the mirror function, the resolution on the Dell will be 1080p. If you're using the extend function, then both devices will be using their respective resolutions.

As a tip, you can press the Windows key + P keyboard shortcut combination (Win+P) to change between display modes. Pressing it multiple times will cycle between these 4 modes:

PC Screen only — disables external monitors

Duplicate - Both screens show the same thing and run at the same resolution (1080p)

Extend - Both screens run at their respective resolution

Second screen only - Disables laptop's LCD, External monitor will run at native resolution.
