Hi,
I have a transit time of 14 hours in singapore airport. Can i take the free shuttle bus from airport. Get down at the stopover and roam around on my own and take the later (return) bus/ taxi to airport. The airport website says its a 2.5 hour tour but does not seem to answer if i can continue on my own.
Please provide your valuable experience if you have any in the past.
The last time I stopped over in Singapore, I made the mistake of enquiring about the free tour bus after I went through customs. The impression I got was that you get on the bus from inside the secured area and I don't think you are allowed to get off the bus to walk around. It basically takes you on a bus ride and drops you back at the airport. I am not sure how this will work if you need to pick up your luggage from the carousel for your connecting flight though.
If you want to roam around, I think it would be best you head towards to the MRT station at the airport after you clear customs. Then take the MRT to where you want to go from there. Taxis are more expensive, but they are not as expensive as Australia.
