LG G6 $120 USD with Sprint

Is there any way those of us from Australia can make use of this?

Nope. American telco's network lock their phones and then charge a massive amount of dollaridoos to unlock them.

The unlocking charge is a hot topic of debate at the moment… I think end of Dec they will be getting rid of the unlocking charges.

here is the article on Slashdot

I'm guessing there are other terms and conditions as well, which I guessed you skimmed over:

First, you need to be a Sprint customer or you shouldn't mind having the Now Network as your carrier.
Second, you will need to use its installment plan to pay for the device.

    • From their domestic unlock policy

The device must be or have been active on the Sprint network for a minimum of 50 days

I was with Sprint when I lived in the US (4 years ago), They use CDMA, not GSM. In Australia, I haven't yet heard of any CDMA based telco. If that is still the case, even an unlocked CDMA phone will be useless in Australia. Also, in CDMA based phones, there is no SIM card slot.
