Great tasting single malt.
Never bought from this online store and delivery looks slow, but at $99.99, its cheap. Shipping is free when you spend over $200.

Good things take time.
Good deal. $154 at Dans.
I bought a dozen mixed bottles of wine (my choices) from nicks last month and they arrived next day. Was impressed.
Nicks delivery is usually quite fast, if you can put up with the default Fastway couriers. I've been buying regularly from Nicks for many years and service is always top level. They will use Aus Post if you ask them nicely, Fastway has been consistently awful in my area.
I bought this a couple of weeks ago from Nicks for the same price. They are very consistent with their pricing. For example, the Glenfarclas 105 cask strength 1L has been $105 for a long time now. The Glenfiddich 18 is a a steal at this price. Whilst not overly complex, it is amazingly smooth. Not worth what Uncle Dan is charging, but for $100 its a great buy.
Does the Glenfarclas 105 cask strength have a peat dominance?
I'm assuming not and I am looking for something with more honey, toffee, butterscotch note to try.
Any clues appreciated.
Not peaty. Massive on the alcohol though and tastes accordingly. Not for the faint hearted.
No peat to speak of, best to try to reduce the alcohol content with a few drops of water, helps open it up a bit too. It's one of the best value scotches in that range out there when you consider the number of standard drinks.
I was going to suggest the Glenfarclas 105 cask strength (60% ABV!) - also very good value - to take the total over $200 and get free shipping. That's what I ordered.
Nick's have been in Melbourne for years…. Used to prefer going to them rather than Dan's as they had a more interesting range at the time. Have closed all but the one physical store now and are obviously concentrating on online sales. I still would not hesitate buying from them.
My last order was delivered in less than 24 hours from when i paid and that was interstate to Sydney… not that slow…
Successfully price-beat at Dan's for $98.50 using Woolies gift cards.
Sometimes you just gotta buy from the guy that set the great price, not dans..
I disagree. I would have gone to Nick's if it was more convenient, but I also didn't want to drive out +35mins or pay the extra $10 for freight. Bonus being able to use my existing Woolworths gift cards.
And to those who negged, get over yourselves. You're on Ozbargain; a community forum that aims to find the best deals
You're both right. But if everyone price matched at Dan's, their competitors would go out of business. And then prices would rise.
Awesome price, grabbed one - thanks!!!!
I have a bottle of this at the moment, very smooth…probably a bit to smooth for my liking.
How would you compare it to Balvenie or Macallan?
Bought it for $98 price match pickup in store at Dans. I like Nicks, but need it today.
Nicks may not be fast but good reputation.
