    Woh… Hang on…. This is a light bulb that's also a WiFi extender….. Amazing.

    • Apparently.. I've never heard of such a thing!

    • Woh.. Hang on…. This is pants!

      • +8

No, I am pants. And that MrPants to you…

        • +4

Oi. Identity theft is getting troublesome.

        • @thisispants: We must settle this by giving you both samurai swords and taking you behind the shed. Two men enter, one man leaves!

    • I know right. I had to read that a second time to make sure I didn't mistake a word for something else. Especially given the price.

    WI-FI Extending Dimmable LED Bulb

I'm waiting for the WI-FI Extending Toilet paper to be released later this year. The 3-ply one will triple your bandwidth…

      Fibre to the butt

      • +4

Yes, it was invented by Di O'Rea.

      Triple your bumwidth.

      • You're not supposed to eat it.

So…every time you turn off the light at the switch you shut off your WiFi. Makes sense. Very smart.

    • Why would you assume that?

      • +3

ON/OFF and dimming control individually or by group.

You don't need to be too bright to work that out…

        • Wifi is always on but lights can be controlled

        • Yeah but at least with a normal IOT bulb I can switch it off at the wall without worrying about shutting down my WiFi.

        • Jv, but you've always been ON when I gave you my bulb..

      • +4

Because changing the switch to off removes all electricity from the bulb. No electricity = no WiFi extender.

        • +1

Uh okay. They are meant to be left on so you can remotely control it

        • @supnigs super skids: Yep but try that logic with a house full of kids etc.

Still a cool product but yeah thats a bit of a pain.

        • +1

@abeeson: Or a house full of people who instinctively turn off lights when they don't need them.

      • If you turn the light switch off at the switch, as per potplanty's post, it would cut power to the socket in which the lamp is installed, so the lamp couldn't power its wifi extender function. This is why he would assume that the wifi extension would stop when the lights were turned off at the switch.

Dimmable, Illumination: 550 Lumens (equivalent to a 40W incandescent bulb)

    Dim and Dimmer

  • That's a great idea though, just incorporating it into an existing product makes a lot of sense. However, maybe not a product with such a limited life span.

An electrical light that transmits wifi?
This is clearly the work of SATAN. I suggest we all hold hands and start singing hymns. We are all going to heck in a handcart…

Brilliant idea, but you need to use app to turn the light on/off… NO THANKS!!!

  • they do a light bulb that is a Bluetooth speaker as well $49 at Aldi

  • Looks like it might be able to ifttt via stringify?

  • Anyone know if the app will allow the light to turn on/off at scheduled times too?

  • This is a brilliant concept

  • think i saw a sengled LED light bulb which was also a wireless speaker in Aldi a couple of days ago. i thought that was weird until i saw this post.

  • wow, it is bargain compared with how much bunnings selling. We need Master back.
