Anyone with Pet Tracking device experience?

So our new dog is a bit of a houdini and I have been looking into some kind of GPS tracker.

Any suggestions of what may work and does not have an ongoing subscription cost as well?

Seems to be a real hit and miss with whats available and has come up in my search results.
