Looking for a new family washing machine around the $600 mark. Can anyone recommend me a great deal. I think I will go for a top loader. I have been eyeing off a 8.5th LG which can be had on sale for around $579. Happy to listen to any opinions.

Yep it's looking like the LG WFT-8582 is the front runner got a price of $555, so that seems a lot of bang for the buck in a 8.5KG size.
Was looking at Simpson, but I've heard mixed reviews, especially from my brother who hates his albeit is a few years old has had it repaired twice.
We paid nearly twice that price for ours way back then but no regrets at all. Sounds a hot deal!
Simpson is ok but the LG would be far better all round.
And the winner 🏆 was LG wft8582 8.5kg for $555 from the good guys carseldine. Maybe could have gouged it out a few more dollars by going to JB or HN and pitting them all against each other. But I thought 555 was a good enough deal. No extended warranty and no delivery. The proof will be how she lasts. But fingers crossed.
We have had a 8.5kg LG for many years now. Similar to the current WF-T8582.
100% recommend it. Does a good job, well made and reliable.
Tip.. Washing machines are happiest when installed perfectly level :-)
