GearBest Won't Refund Me

Bought a phone from them and after receiving it and testing it out I realized it wasn't kind of crappy.

I looked on their website and saw they had a 45 day return policy, so I sent it back with lots of time for shipping. (Item was bought end of April, I returned it beginning of May). I reached out to them a couple days ago asking why I hadn't received the refund yet and they said that since I contacted them past the 45 days and I didn't obtain approval from them to return the item they wouldn't be refunding me. WTF?????

Not happy at all, I'm going to do everything I can to get my money back and will never by from them again.

Is there anything at all I can do???

    Why return it then? Also, as Spackbace has said, you need to contact them first for an RMA. Please don't blame others for your errors. And good on him for changing the title of this thread.

    Gearbest are a bit flaky but you should contact anyone about returning goods before just sending them back I think.

  • Calm down OP, you didn't follow their returns policy.

    Just a little off-topic PSA:

    Gearbest's refund policy doesn't give you the option for a cash-refund.

    In the event something goes wrong with your order (lost, back-order), you will receive 3 options:

    1. Wait a little longer.
    2. Exchange it with an item of your choice.
    3. Cancel this order. In this case, we will refund to you on your GB wallet(store credit).

    In the response, type:

    "I'd like to choose option 4. Cash refund. If that is not possible, I will lodge a PayPal dispute. Thanks."

      Under what reason for the dispute?

      Either way, hopefully op has PayPal valid proof of shipment.

    You are going to have a difficult time trying to get your money back, not sure how much assistance PayPal provide in this circumstance as even they understand that you need to get an RMA number before sending anything back..

  • Tl;Dr: OP didn't like the item. OP sent the item back without any communication. OP doesn't get refund as expected.

    Its gone your money is gone. Just leave it! No way will they be able to prove that it was you who sent them a phone without approval! What are the chances that it was logged as a return?

  • Newby mistake, generally for returns through online business need a return authorisation (Ra).
