There is a store near my house which I visit regularly and they are listed on the AMEX app under the "Local Champion" thing which means they take AMEX, yet when I visit the store there is a sign on the counter stating they don't accept AMEX and staff won't let me use it. How would I go about reporting the store to AMEX to have them removed because it's very misleading and false advertising.

From what I can tell, their website has changed a lot since I posted this.
I'd suggest going through their live chat as I cannot find this magical messaging thing that I mentioned above.

Yes it wouldn't be the first one. Like rambutann I got a few such credits from stores advertised to be part of their shop small promotion.
You can message them from their website. I did it once when they offered $10 off for shopping small - I went there and they didnt accept AMEX - they credited me the $10 without even having the prove that I had spent money (even though I did..).
