    • Can you save game data on the cloud or via your sony account when your internal 500 gb is used up? I assume so (so that if you lose your ps4 you still have a backup in cloud of game save data)? In which case all you need is an external HDD to keep installing games on, correct?

I think the latest updates means even the original ps4's can use external hdds for installing games and accessing storage space, correct?

      • Yeah, I think the cloud save functionality is unaffected by how full the internal hard drive is. To be honest, I don't know a whole lot about it, it just does its thing in the background and I've never had to restore a save.

And yeah, any PS4 can use an external HDD for game storage (I have a fat PS4 and it works 100% fine). You can only use the external drive for game installs though - any save files or game recordings etc. need to be stored on the internal drive (this is done automatically).

        • so you would have to manage your game installs to your external hdd well before the internal gets full or else you'd be unable to save?

Can you transfer game installs to an external hdd once the internals full? Never used an external so I assume you can prompt which one you want to install to? As normally with internal only you pop in the game and it auto installs….

        • @SaberX: I wouldn't worry about being unable to save. I highly doubt it would ever (or could ever) get to that point. All of my save files for every game/app I've ever played take up about 5.5GB of space. The PS4 operating system keeps some space on the hard drive in reserve for its own purposes, I assume the programmers were smart enough for game saves to never become an issue.

You can transfer game installs between internal and external storage as you like. Games can play off either hard drive equally well, so you won't need to move things around too much. In the settings, you set a default install location (which can be changed at any time), so installing games from discs or downloads is the same as before (it won't prompt you, it just uses your selected default).

  • Looks like the cheapest deal for the PlayStation VR.

    Anyone else have one?
    Any cheaper deals?

  • Can't seem to buy the 12 month PS+ subscription on the PlayStation website?

  • +1

12 month membership still up for $69.95 as of right now…

    • Yeah same. Is it only for accounts that dont have PS+?

      • The poster doesn't list that as a condition so no.
Also I can't find this online at JB, Big W, Target, EB or Sony.
        WTF is going on?

        • Also I can't find this online at JB

It got pulled due to pricing error, have you not seen that thread?
Bog W and Target have never had them online, no idea if EB have.

        • @snuke:
I have. Doesn't explain why it hasn't been put back up for $49.

Also BS that Sony are still charging $69.95.

        • @Viper8:

They need to fix stuff at their end before taking more orders.

Sony store always updates later. Usually triggered by the Eu update which can be as late as 9pm AEST, but price changes normally come far earlier.

  • +1

No PSN discounts online at all.

  • +1

I'm guessing the online deal will go live when EU does since we use the same store and it updates on EU time.

    • When is that?

  • Weird that neither the shops nor psn are showing discounts on ps plus…

Tempted to go to target for HZD as I doubt it will be cheaper online.

Probably the psn discounts will show up in European am, which is soon.

  • Can someone post the psn price of HZD if it shows up soon?

  • Looks like it's $54.95

PS Plus 12 months shows as unavailable on the psn mobile storefront.

  • +1

Has anyone been able to add another 12 months to their existing sub? It's not working for me.

  • Can anyone adivse what the usual price of dualshock controllers are when ozbargained? $70 currently per this post, someone mentioned targets were $58?

I heard wind of a 'new dualshock' controllert too - but had no idea there was even more than one version of the ps4 controler planned? I don't need a new one, but could use a spare. so just wondering if i should hold off if a better, newer version is worth waiting for? Or is this $58/70 dualshock price well worth just hoarding a spare for a yr or two until my current one breaks?

    • Get the $58 from Target. Sony rarely discounted their hardwares, probably 2-3 times a year?

      • Online shipped sales comparably not close to 60 during salea?

        • Yeah but those are from OS. You might even ended up with fake one.

        • @Yummy:

true.. i just thought those websites that are reputable gaming exporters could be trustworthy enough to get the controllers sent here when on sale… true point that the target one at least will be legit.

  • Can't add 12 month sub it's saying check transaction history

    • Same here - not letting me add a year on.

      • +1

You need to link a PayPal or credit card in your wallet to add it to your cart then select wallet as your payment method

  • You can buy DS4 controllers on Amazon today for USD $39 + 7.50 shipping. That's about $50 AU. Shipping will be less if you are ordering something else already. You can choose any color.

  • +2

To those trying to add a 12 month sub for plus, I couldn't get it to work with the PlayStation Site , but works just
    fine on the console

    Go to Store
Find PS Plus 30% off Icon (next to Days of Play )
    click Extend $48.95

Badabing Bada Boom… $21 saving and Check Renewal Date to be sure…

I'm set till the end of 2019 as I renewed it twice.

    • It wants me to add a payment method to my account, despite having more than enough money in PSN credit. Screw giving Sony my CC/Paypal details, they've shown that they can't be trusted with keeping our data secure, and I can't be arsed adding them using the crappy ps4 interface to manually remove them 10 mins afterwards.

      • Had the same problem, pain in the ass adding details without a keyboard. Unlinked those details on desktop. Worthwhile enough for to get two 12 months subs for $49.

        • I use their PlayStation app or do it on PC online the PS4 interface is too slow sometimes disconnects me for no reason
